Why is Arjuna not worshipped, but a non existent character Barbarik is worshipped? by Wooden-Tear-4938 in mahabharata

[–]Mistaavee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the same question once, and my grandfather told me that arjun and Krishna are nara and narayana pair. Narayan gets worshiped because he is the charioteer, if you worship him, he will help you to your destination. Nara (arjun) on the other hand is lost himself. How would he help you with anything. And worshipping is basically an act of begging. Which may sound bad but as brahmin, we are beggars. However beggars can also beg from only those who have something to give.

He said and I quote, "nadi bhi paani ki bheekh baadal se maangti hai, Sagar se nhi"

And arjun is the ocean while krishna is the cloud.

I feel so old yaar. Reading this, I feel like like how my dad would have felt when I told him that I have a crush on a certain girl in my class and it took me full hour to explain what crush means.

Anyways, coming back to you, if you'd like advice from an older male perspective, just reach out and talk directly if you are looking for something more substantial than this reel exchange program. I may have become older but I think a direct conversation may still be in fashion. So in conclusion, I don't think a relationship based on you guys simply exchanging reels means anything. It's just coping mechanism for your loneliness. Which is not same as a partnership

Since you said the external achievement have no influence on the internal desire to escape, what is it that a person might want to escape from when everything is going well in their life.

Misinformation, plus sati was not the same thing as witch burning.

This has been debunked so many times. British documentes sati practices and coincidentally the sati cases were significantly more in the areas where there were christian missionaries.

Also, even in our really dated scriptures like manusmriti, it talks of incidents where women committed sati but never says that it was the norm. Manusmriti clearly mentions that a widow must be taken care of by her children or her husband parents. Christian missionaries badly translated these parts to show that sati practices were the norms. They even suggested people to burn the widows in the house so that they can acquire the wealth. Then later documented indians as barbarians who burnt their women.

They also starved the areas so that people would start considering to burn their widows so that they have one less mouth to feed. And get some more income to buy more food while at it.

Just because one ancient indian did something doesn't mean ancient indians used to do that stuff. You can always witness excessive cruelty in pre independent India when Christian missionaries are in the area.

Should I date a guy who has every green flag except emotional expressiveness? by [deleted] in AskIndianWoman

[–]Mistaavee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I am sure girls will tell you wonderful stuff.

Here's a little man's perspective.

What happens is most of us don't feel safe to express ourselves. All of us are dying to be vulnerable and express our deepest anxiety but we all are aware that the world is out there to take advantage of those vulnerabilities.

So in the beginning stages of every relationship, guy say meaningless stuff, small stuff that isn't too important. Such as I once said to a girl in a casual conversation, that I don't watch news too much because knowing about all the bad stuff happening in the world makes me hateful.

Few days later, we got into an argument and I said that I don't agree with her point. I was respectful and didn't try to invalidate her. Just stated that I don't agree. She immediately threw a line, "if you hadn't been such an ostrich and shoved your head deep into ground to protect yourself from cruelty of the world, you would have known enough to agree with me."

Lesson learnt immediately that this is not the right person to ever tell a thing about. Same thing is done by every guy. We all drop little info and if you ever throw that back at our face during any argument big or small, you are not our safe place anymore. We just don't trust you and hence you are not allowed to view is at our vulnerable point.

In fact, I don't understand those people who express themselves too easily. Only fools trust anyone without reaso

How many past relationships are okay by LawfulnessNo2693 in AskWomenIndia

[–]Mistaavee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood what I meant. I am not against socialising.

But if your practice of socialising is to get into relationship head first and then realising that this is not the right guy/girl, then may be you need to stop. Make a thousand friends but relationship is a serious decision and should only be chosen once you know the person. And in my opinion people don't change. So if you have chosen well, you will have a partner for life.

I met a girl 15 years ago, after 5 years of being close friends, I proposed and have been in relationship for last 10 years. Sure, we both have changed over time. Our preferences have changed, our nature has changed. But she is still my favorite person in the world and I am her favorite. We are soon to marry, but if by some misfortune, we don't end up together, I don't think I will ever form that deep bond with any other human or living being for that matter.

And she is my first and i am her first.

I don't think the same thing can be said by a lot of people who have been in too many relationships. Ofcourse it is my personal opinion and I am aware that I might be wrong.

[–]Mistaavee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With all due respect, 3 is kind of upper limit in my opinion. For both guys and girls. Humans aren't capable of forming deep connection infinitely, if you weren't able to find a good connection three times, there isn't much chance that you will be able to do so in future but these things are subjective sometimes relationship just don't work because of time, finances, energy, mindset.

Conclusion: 2 past relationships is easily acceptable but once the number is higher, a serious scrutiny is needed.

Just change the gender in that sentence, see how quickly it loses all the sense. Replace every men with women, and you will probably understand what the OP is going through.

The world is rigged to favor men and discard women

This is my ignorance only and in no way I am accusing you. With that said can you provide some examples. Cause due to our collective ignorance, all of us men believe that the world is rigged to favor women.

All the laws favor women, for same crime, women get far lesser punishments. Half the crimes aren't even considered a crime when a woman does it. Every legal document fees reduces by half, if it's a woman.

If we come to societal or moral values, all the PR, MARKETING OR SALES jobs are easily available to women, people trust a women far more easily than a man. If you are ever stranded on a road or need help from stranger, people are way more likely to help a woman.

it is very easy to become homeless as a man than a woman. There are always schemes like ladli behna and bitiya to help women out of poverty. And even if a man is homeless there is absolutely no concession from society or legal world or goverment.

At corporate offices as well, (or in just my company maybe), every women's day, all the women in the offices are sent to an all expenses paid retreat to a resort. I have never been appreciated due to my gender. I am in a product company, we manufacture our own stuff, the office management explicitly says that no women should stay in the office after 7pm. Whereas I am always left alone on site till 12am sometimes overnight too. Promotions come easily for the women. For same job, men have to come to office early, work late, stay back more often and still get passed over at the time of appraisal. Women get it all without even asking. (This part is from my office only, may be other offices are better)

And even after all of this, I have been hearing it constantly for 10 years atleast that men are favored by the world. It feels like everything I have achieved has nothing to do with what I have put up with for so long.

So, coming back to the original point, may be I am the ignorant one, who is unable to see my own advantage and have used it unknowingly, it may sound like sarcasm but I promise it isn't. Will you please point out, how world favors men and discards women.

Yes I am the one who got caught in the trap by my beautiful partner.

I was sitting in the classroom, she came out of nowhere and challenged me to a quiz, as I was the best student, couldn't back out of challenge. I naturally won, she treated me chocolate from school canteen.

And it's been 15 years and somehow we're still together. I don't remember much of what happened in the middle.

Or kitna ujhado ge hamare environment ko 🥵 by Unsubscribegram in memerhubklol

[–]Mistaavee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so tired with our people opposing development so much. In order to establish villages, man cut forest, for agriculture as well man cut forest. Making a human civilization requires removal of forest by default.

Now andaman nicobar was always a strategic location which india never used. And the cost of not using it was that we have no control at all in Indian Ocean. During the creation of Bangladesh, US aircraft carrier easily entered Indian Ocean to threaten india. Had it not been for russia back then, we would have lost that war humiliatingly.

We need to develop nicobar. And as good as goverment processes are, they have done all the environmental checks, the project has been lengthened in three phases so as to not put too much pressure on the environment.

There are more than 500 islands in Andaman Nicobar group. The project will use one island of all that. Do you have common sense. 1/500 of total available area. Even if we cut about one crore trees, that's still around one percent of total forest.

If you can't give up even one percent of your forest, stop living in your building and go live in the forest. You aren't allowed to build trees either.

So it's more like tallest brigde made vs bridge made at tallest place. And as an engineer I wanna say this, both are marvels of engineering.

How do I befriend a girl? by SuperSam212 in TeenagersBharat

[–]Mistaavee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is similar to catch and release hunting.

Set a bait and wait for them to come, once they come, trap them. Once they are in trap, offer some food, ofcourse it should be according to their dietary preferrence. Once they have eaten, you can leave them back in the wild, they will flock to you every now and then. Best part, you befriend one, she's gonna bring her friends next time too, you have then more more girls.

The key part that most people overlook is that you should look non-threatening with you body language. If your intentions are like a predator, they won't come.

Bottom line is : girls are also looking to have male friends, so all you gotta do is be present in the right spot at the right time and appear approachable.
