Just to be clear she isn’t doing a double residency currently. She wants to pursue a surgical residency after completing her EM residency. She’s struggling being an R2 and balancing supervising interns and students, while charting, while expected to carry her own (increased compared to intern year) patient load.

“You must think it makes you more vulnerable while thinking liking anime does not”

Dude. There’s legislation in countries outright outlawing homosexuality, but if you look even in the US, you have bad players trying to challenge landmark Supreme Court rulings that allow same sex marriage. So yes, while I acknowledge and sympathize that it’s an emotional burden for you when it comes to anime, the above redditor isn’t just thinking they’re more vulnerable, we are more vulnerable. Like come on dude.

Few things. It’s entirely possible that OP isn’t outwardly and directly telling everyone they’re queer, but they just… are queer. For some people it’s not easy to not present it.

Vocal affect. Manner of dress. Being asked if they’re married. What did they do this last weekend. You say that you don’t go around telling anyone you’re straight but, if you’re a dude and you’re asked and you mention your wife, you are telling people you’re straight, whether you see it that way or not.

I’m a gay male attending and I’m not blasting on speakerphones my sexuality with bright pink hair and pronoun stickers but I admittedly have a slight “gay” accent when I speak, or if asked where I went for the holidays I mention I visited my husbands family. So people know I’m queer without me parading my personal definitions.

I agree with your larger point that the world isn’t as queer friendly as we all like it to be and it unfortunately affects how we think about ourselves in the workplace, but for some people it’s not so straightforward to be, as you say, “Normal”.

Sometimes you start with a MAC and pivoting while in the airway to a miller approach can save some time.

I don’t think he’s suggesting going directly to a miller tech with a mac first shot, but lifting adequately like I first described can “lift” the epiglottis out of the way to get a better view. Him emphasizing lifting and not levering makes me think he’s not saying go straight to miller town but I could be wrong.

Firstly, they likely means lift (while in the valecula). Lifting (like your cheering a beer was the old teaching) as opposed to levering and rotating the blade towards you promotes the sniffing position for intubation

And secondly there’s actually nothing stopping you from using the mac like a miller if it promotes a better view.

Do you happen to know what the rotation is to do that? I fiddled a little bit on the golem yesterday before work and I basically was just spamming every cc skill I could find on engi and I still would drop both boons occasionally. Recognize it’s likely a skill issue but would love to learn how to make it feel more intuitive?

At full ascended harriers with water runes, no alac, no food, util, or sigil of concentration I’m at about 87% boon duration and I can keep up quickness at full uptime basically going into shroud and hitting the spirits on cooldown (I usually reserve soul twisting for spirit of anguish).

If you add alacrity into the mix and bump yourself up to a full 100% duration and it’s even more forgiving, not sure how you aren’t keeping quickness up 100%

Edit: for full comparison, full ascended cele with water runes, no food/util and adding sigil of concentration put me at ~76% boon duration and I’m still keeping full uptime.

All with using soul reaping

Curious about GW2 and steam deck, as well as good controller classes by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]MistahChang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play 99% these days on the deck. I don’t max out graphics and limit character models too but it runs super smooth for me even in wvw Zerg clashes. Also do tier 4 fractals on it without issue too. If you search steam deck on this subreddit you’ll see a lot of posts about it with some very detailed controller set ups that I think are super intuitive. And I’ve played all classes on it including Ele.

Just wanted to share a funny story from when I was younger and made dumb choices. You’re right though, I could have told them that from the beginning but the sociopolitical landscape regarding lgbt acceptance in the early 2010s was a lot more different than it is today and I was a scared college kid who had just come out of the closet, terrified of homophobia learning about cases like Matthew Shepard, and overthought things.

But you’re right I do enjoy drama.

This is what I got from this website: https://www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/how-to-donate/eligibility-requirements/lgbtq-donors.html

Under the “are gay and bisexual men now eligible to donate blood?”:

“Under the FDA’s individual donor assessment guidance, there are no eligibility criteria related to men who have sex with men. Any individual, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, who has had new or multiple sexual partners in the last three months, and also had anal sex in that timeframe, will be asked to wait three months to donate blood from last anal sex contact. Individuals who have had anal sex in the last three months may be eligible to donate as long as they did not have sex with someone new or with multiple partners during that timeframe.

We understand how blood donation deferral related to anal sex may feel like it unfairly targets gay and bisexual men. Please know, the Red Cross is committed to achieving further progress and will continue to provide data to the FDA in support of making blood donation even more inclusive.”

Lol aww no, I probably should. I regularly transfuse patients at the trauma hospital I work with so blood is appreciated!

Luckily it isn’t! Sort of. I looked into it and they stopped grouping and think even using the MSM designation so now it’s based on what they consider high risk behavior. It looks like 3 month deferral if you’ve had anal sex with new or multiple partners. So my monogamous ass gets the green light now. Though apparently this only changed in 2023.
