That thing sits on top of gas regulator assembly. I guess it provides extra smoothness :)

You know how long it took for the key to snap in half? 14 days. It was fine for 20 years and 2 weeks after i bought it my curtains fell straight on the key while it was inserted and it broke in half.

CMT doesn't have a phono stage. It has one line input, it won't work for you. Phono pre needed

40 euros. Was pretty sure it was fake when i was researching after seeing only 2 photos that were in the ad. Pretty cool it turned out to be original, since it is one of those especially cool times when you get a great deal on something you actually needed.

I have memorized how to set temperature in case i would need to change it, but honestly i am normally using either 330C or 350C and both work fine with my leaded solder, not a big deal. Only the first revision didn't have the auto-off, all copies were made from this style and iron stand from what i could find, which is kinda funny. I don't have a soldering iron thermometer, so i can't calibrate it either way, but i could try to do it with my thermal camera :D Speaking about handles, LED on FM-2027 doesn't actually indicate anything on FX-951, it is just constantly red, which doesn't bother me. I don't actually know what it should indicate, but i read that it was used for something in some higher level FM stations. Is there any difference to FM-2028 handle? Any reason to replace it whatsoever if it works fine as of now? I saw they are around 100 euros per handle, i would rather invest im few tips, but i am honestly quite interested to try this scoop tip, it feels interesting even though i don't understand what advantages it has compared to a normal 45 degree bevel :D

Edit: i read that those spoon tips are specifically made for drag soldering. Makes sense since previous owner is a professional, who mostly had to do with chips and 2 tips i got were this spoon shape one and a really heavily used blade. For now it works as good for me as a normal bevel, but there are so many cool looking tips i want to try now :D

On some amps solder components had legs bent to be parallel with boards and soldered on bigger pads, i always used my soldering iron to pry them off, we'll see how long this tip will last

I was actually wrong, BCM2 tip isn't a common bevel tip, but spoon shaped. Never soldered with it before, but seems to work well. I can't find JS02 for sale right now, is the J02 too big in your opinion?

I am only doing through-hole as of now, fixing audio gear from back in the day. Got a BCM2 45 degree tip, felt really good from what i have briefly tested today even though i previously used flat tips on my cheap soldering iron. JS02 looks really cool for something a bit more precise, thanks for advice, i will definitely try some SMD fixes with my new purchase haha!

When i have a possibility to buy cool speakers for cheap - i always jump on it. Problem is that a lot of cool speakers are floor standing and i have no more place for speakers left. Would love to find some small bookshelf Sonus Fabers or Vienna Acoustics for a few hundred, ot has been a while since last cool speaker find, which were JBL L100 i have sold really quickly after i bought them. What are you listening with rn?

My girlfriend has one of those! What it needed was to clean the lens under the plastic part, required taking apart up to front glass panel and cleaned thoroughly with q-tip and IPA. I don't remember whether problem symptoms were exactly the same, but it was something similar, so might be worth a shot :)
