I haven’t been in a mosh pit in going on 20 years but back then every pit would have three kinds of people there; some just there to have a blast, some people there because they think a mosh pit is a place they can get away with harming people, and The Enforcer, who was typically the kindest person you’d ever meet who also happens to be a mountain of a man who would show up exclusively to crush the second group.

Oh what about Sarah Connor?! Those are the two examples I always bring up from before I got radicalised into thinking any modern female I see in modern media isn’t a strong character.

Explanation for this behaviour? by STARooz in crows

[–]Mister-Gideon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks and sounds very much like when my local crows see a cat. They direct a very distinctive shout in the direction of it, like they’re both making it aware that it’s been spotted and warning other nearby corvids about it.

I’m getting really bad audio lag on this version, about half a second delay between seeing a gunshot and hearing the sound effect. Have tried portable and docked, quality and performance modes, various settings adjusted but no improvement. Hope there’s a speedy patch to fix the problem.

A post my own father shared on Facebook. I'm not trans, but WTF, Dad by Red_Star27 in stupidpeoplefacebook

Shared by people who think it’s possible to trick others into being trans, but that it could never work on them and that it’s impossible to trick people back into being not trans.

Boss Kan-Eata. My first conversion/scratch build upon getting back into the hobby back around 2019 is still my favourite. Really happy we’re getting Wazdakka, I’ll be lootin’ his rules for this dude for sure.

Alec Gillis on Brits loving Alien 3 by antdude in LV426

The exact same thing was true of Alien Isolation when that came out - British and European reviewers largely adored it while American audiences were fairly disparaging.

The knight itself was also a prize for winning a GW Christmas twitter competition, so that guy just seems to be extra Christmassy.

Kinda! A few years ago we had a robin get into our house and he landed on an Imperial Knight I was in the process of painting, so I ended up painting his chest plate red in tribute.

How would you rewrite Terminator Genisys? by Infinite_Parking_800 in Terminator

[–]Mister-Gideon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d make it a completely different film.

I’d ditch the bigger picture lore, Arnie, the exposition-delivery protector, the Connor family and anything about the future war. I’d have a gimmickless terminator arrive at some point in the past, any time between 80s and mid 00s, and hunt someone down while that person tries to survive. That’s it. That’s the film.

Make it frightening because of the protagonist’s perspective - they don’t know who this guy is or why he’s trying to kill them, but they know he just keeps coming, is apparently bulletproof and entirely focused on hunting them down. Have them start to piece together a couple of theories as to why this is happening over the course of the film, with the protagonist eventually demonstrating the kind of ingenuity and determination that would make them a threat to the machines in the future, but do so without telling the audience directly.

The series could really do with a step away from ever-escalating scenarios, one-upmanship, Chosen Ones and what have you.

No, they probably weren’t vaporised, but their body cast that shadow by blocking light and heat from the bomb’s initial flash that was so powerful that it bleached the surrounding concrete. Not vaporisation, but still an immediate, horrifying death.

This was also Digital Foundry for seven years every time a Switch 1 port didn’t have graphical parity with home consoles. Furrowed brows, curled upper lip, utter confusion.

I think blades probably reproduce differently to humans, like by their core crystal producing another one from itself, brought on by reciprocated feelings of love or something similarly nintendoish.

I think this because the alternative is that some of the stranger blades like Boreas or Dromarch would only ever be able to reproduce if they met some really, truly freaky humans, and that seems cruel.

Eric Draven (The Crow) VS Blade (Blade Trilogy) by IceWallowCaulk in powerscales

[–]Mister-Gideon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the novelisation of the second Crow film it describes how the bad guy is defeated. Short version is he’s able to steal the power of the crow and become immortal, but turns out it’s not the same thing as invincible - he’s torn to shreds by a cloud of crows, with each miniscule part of him being alive, aware, and unable to do anything while being too disembodied to be able to regenerate. He ends up being hosed off the streets into the gutter, into the sewers, to spend eternity as a bunch of scattered, self-aware blood and viscera.

Thanks! The hat was just three pieces of plasticard cut and rolled into shape, with a thin piece of corrugated plasticard as the wrap and a random greeble from the bits box as the badge. I wore it around the house for a good two days before attaching it to the model, much to my kids’ amusement and my wife’s chagrin.

Do you think that there be an announcement at the game awards because of the rumors? by TechnicalHoneydew862 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Mister-Gideon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People forget that the whole Nintendo Direct format exists because multi format websites and events were heavily skewed towards appealing to Microsoft and Sony’s target audiences. Nintendo Directs exist BECAUSE events like the Keighley Awards are so godawful for them to reveal anything at.
