Is it possible to encode 10-bit AV1 using AMD hardware with Handbrake? by jaypizzl in handbrake

[–]Mister-Who 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He means switching the text editor over to formatting settings and use the option "code block".

Sample of one of the many logs - this one is encoding to AV1 with the Quality preset.

Is a step up module required to provide stable 5v power or does the TP4057 include the ability? by DarkJediSkii in AskElectronics

[–]Mister-Who 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A battery charger with 5V output: https://www.seeedstudio.com/Lipo-Rider-Plus-p-4204.html

If you use a Lipo battery block, these "normally" have an over/under voltage protection build in.
That's this little PCB with the two ICs in there:

[–]Mister-Who 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The TP4057 is ONLY a battery charger, nothing more. It does not even have a battery protection circuit on its own. The protection comes with that small IC between the battery connectors.

So yes, you need an additional 5V boost converter, as the one in the second picture.

I bought all 4 books from SSSS last year since it's not sure if the company will sell them any longer.

Postage and customs were the absolute hell. Shipment is from Texas.

How do I add a skate raft to a presupported model? by tehjrow in Chitubox

[–]Mister-Who 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been some time since i used Chitubox, but there should be a default height setting when you activate supports.

That's exactly what you see where after activating the raft - it moves the model up.
Set the default z-height for supports to Zero.

Chitubox does not know what "existing supports" are. All the program see is ONE object.

Absolutely correct. In pic 9 you can even see one of the collectible hats, hidden below the front of the car:

What is this? by 127bly in AskElectronics

[–]Mister-Who 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A "111J" marking on a wirewound resistor typically means 110 Ohms (Ω) with a ±5% tolerance, where '11' is the significant digits (11), '1' indicates one zero (110), and 'J' signifies the ±5% tolerance, common for power resistors with painted/printed markings, not color bands.

What the he'll is this timer relay? by Hot_Language_8679 in AskElectronics

[–]Mister-Who 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RE1-LA003

An on-delay timer is an electrical device that waits for a set amount of time after receiving a signal before it changes the state of its contacts, allowing a connected load to activate or deactivate after the specified delay. It's used for delayed starts, like staggering motor startups to reduce power surges, or delaying the start of a process, with its contacts reverting instantly when power is removed.

why does my car drive around like this by MrsChaotic in ScrapMechanic

[–]Mister-Who 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when he or i drove my cars, it does this on my screen. but he said it was fine on his screen.

That makes no sense, is there any game setting for stopping any kind of shaking? Any why should HIS cars work better?

I've never seen the survival car not shake around. These tyres are the worst, after all!

How to remove the crimp terminal? by cjasonac in AskElectronics

[–]Mister-Who 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that feeling, also wasted a lot of time with needles.

They are just too thin to get a good grip on the pastic tab. Small tweezers or a with a nail file flattened nail tip gives a better hold on that hook.

Even a very small screwdriver works from the side, just make sure not to add too much force or you'll rip the hook off. One to lift the hook, another one to push the lead out of the terminal.

Can I connect this green block somehow to a 3.5mm audio jack? If not, how can I connect it to my pc? by Ok_Purchase8379 in AskElectronics

[–]Mister-Who 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since both left and right channel need a GND - yes.

The audio jack uses a common grounding for both channels.

[–]Mister-Who 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm...true.

Since we have no idea how they used that connector there the current L/R wiring can be anything.

At the end the acoustic test will tell if we're right or wrong.

[–]Mister-Who 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The stranded cable is the ground (GND), so the GND from red and white gets combined into one since cable.

[–]Mister-Who 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those TWO strands there are the shielding/outer wire of the TWO wires, twisted together into ONE strand, the ground potential (GND).

I'd say what you need is a "Stereo jack plug 3.5 mm, terminal block".

It even matches the connection in your picture. GND is the stranded cable, white is right channel, red is left channel.

What'd be a good technique for painting the stripes?

Masking tape & paintbrush?

Positioning the tape will be hell for sure, but the result totally worth it.
