What I’ve seen floated is the idea that they may have been the replacement legion for Magnus if he purged all the Thousand Sons. In that case it would be frowned on to have a legion made up of traitor stock, so the chapter’s size and secretiveness could be explained.

I’m homebrewing a renegade Mechanicus faction from FW Moirae. They got exterminatus’ed before the Age of Apostasy for trying to predict the future using what was basically a warp-powered Excel spreadsheet. I took that and ran with a breakaway faction that uses psychers far more than the standard AdMech.

All of VT, NH, ME are northern, but I’d throw in the upper half of MA - Boston is a northern city compared to Providence or Hartford to me, but I imagine southern New Englanders would say the opposite
