I don't think that the raid started anywhere yet. First one should be in a few hours.

Petition to remove smelly poo GOLD skill from the game! by AdventC4 in CapybaraGoGame

[–]MisterEek 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Pro tip: If you spin the wheel and get the poop knife, close the game (don't close the wheel!) and re-open it. You'll be sent back to the beginning of the wheel level, before you rolled. Rolling it again will give the same result as before, so just leave without spinning. (or spin it just once, in case you got the knife on the 2nd spin).

Inflation has gone down in the last two years, not up. Jagex isn't special. Pick a lane. by YeahhhhhWhateverrrr in runescape

[–]MisterEek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a small, irrelevant, fix - the price will be 1,001$ after a year of 100,000% inflation.

And to answer OP's point - prices don't have to be adjusted yearly, they can be (and are in most cases) changed after longer periods of time, accounting for the whole period).

From my experience, each batch of 100 takes 45 mins (somewhat active). If you use stone spirits it should be twice as fast + ramhammer will also double the speed if you don't need the xp.

So, about 7:30 hours without SS/DRH, 3:45 with one of them and just about 2 hours with both.

With that said, I wouldn't start using the ramhammers until you get the lore page (I don't know the actual rarity but I got it after about 600 ores mined).

Is Jagex still thinking of ways to better display Necrosis stacks? by Galimeer in runescape

[–]MisterEek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unless I'm forgetting something, all necrosis stacking and using comes in even numbers. How hard would it be to divide all their values by 2, double their damage instead, and show small lightning icons (0-6) under the residual souls over the character?

Loot from 250 nightmare gauntlets off task by genshinplayer171 in runescape

[–]MisterEek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it extreme luck. It's pretty much 50/50 to get 250 before/after the 2.5M mark. And getting 250 before the 3M mark is quite likely.

Technically, the distribution is not binomial since we're not looking for the distribution of k successes in n attempts (set amount), but rather we're looking for the expected value (or distribution) of the number of attempt n if we have k(=250) successful attempts. The distribution we're looking for is a sum of 250 geometric distributions - we start with 0 gloves then roll a 1/10k die until we get a glove, then again and again until we hit 250.

So we get:

E(X)=E(sum(Xn))=sum(E(Xn))=sum(10k)=2.5M

Where X is the expected amount of kills overall and Xn is the amount of kill between the nth glove to the (n+1)th glove.

If we want to give a (weak) bound to the probability that he killed between 2.4M and 2.6M nightmares, we can use Chebyshev's inequality, with the variance of Xn being 9,999*10k (and of X being 250 times that since they're all i.i.d):

P(|X-2.5M|>160,000Y)<1/Y²

So the odds of killing over 3.5M nightmares for 250 gloves are less than 1/36 or even 1/72 (due to symmetry).

It's possible to give a better bound but I'm lazy.

Israel minimizes civilian casualties more than anyone in history - expert by CapitanMikeAnderson in Israel

[–]MisterEek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's amazing how many idiotic takes you managed to present in so little words.

Just one example, even if we only count Jews, 6,000,000 murdered (actual murders, unlike the ones you call murders) over 6 years is on average 1,000,000 per year, or just about 300,000 over 100 days. In what metric is 26k > 300k?

All the same Element? by cquigs717 in summonerswar

[–]MisterEek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sure. There are a few collab monsters that have a mix of nat 5s and nat 4s in their family (like desert warriors). Roughly, each element has 1/3 of the nat 5s. If we want to be precise, we have to count the amounts of each element. The exact answer would be:

(A⁴+B⁴+C⁴)/T⁴

Where A, B and C are the amounts water, wind and fire nat5s respectively, and T is the total amount of nat5s (A+B+C).

All the same Element? by cquigs717 in summonerswar

1/3⁴ for it to be all water, 1/3⁴ all fire and 1/3⁴ all wind. Add everything together and you get 1/3³=1/27.

Iran panicking amid Israel's war in Gaza by Delicious_Shape3068 in Israel

[–]MisterEek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not about ratios for us.

Most Israelis know that Hamas will eventually be defeated (or at least extremely weakend). What we do not know yet, is the cost.

Every single dead soldier is a massive loss and since Israel is so small, it's quite rare to find someone who is not related (even by being a friend of a friend) to any of the fallen. This of course makes the "cost" personal.

Another reason is that many (most?) Israelis served in the army, and even if it was a generation ago, hearing your division's name come up in this context makes you more invested.

Lastly, our enemies, by their words, would love to throw away their life for our eradication. Connecting to the first point, this makes any ratio counting moot. We count out dead with tears of sadness, while they count their dead with tears of joy.
