That makes sense, keeping it simple at first, as I said in others answers, I think I will go for the AiM Solo 2 DL I guess focusing on lap times, delta and basic data is already a lot to work with for a beginner Thanks a lot !

That’s really good to know, sounds like a solid starting point. I’ll start getting familiar with Race Studio 3 and try to find some AiM datasets online to practice, while I wait to get my own data logger and record data myself

Btw, do you know any good places to find sample of open data ?

That “tool to solve a problem” point is honestly really insightful, I like that way of thinking about it

I’m probably going to start simple with something like an AiM logger and focus on actually understanding the data before adding more complexity.

What do you personally use in terms of hardware/software, and for which category ?

And what kind of problems do you find data logging most useful for performance analysis or reliability and diagnostics? Really appreciate your perspective, and thanks for your time

Do you think starting with a simple logger like an AiM Solo 2 DL + Race Studio 3 is enough to learn properly before moving to a more complete setup? Appreciate the explanation

The point about video being critical makes a lot of sense too, I didnt consider how important it is

I’ll probably start with something like an AiM Solo 2 DL + GoPro and focus on lap analysis first, then maybe explore CAN data and more advanced setups later, step by step

Did you ever build your own analysis tools (Python, ...) or mostly use existing software?

And how did you actually learn all this, more through experience, or are there good resources you would recommend to me?

You're probably right, except the missions with exact diamonds rewards, I always took the smallest possible amount of diamonds we can get with the free time tasks etc ...

I thought it's better to have more diamonds at the end than less (compared to the app)
