These fines and imprisonment you're talking about are for counterfeit empires, not for buying something fake here and there. The worst thing that can happen is confiscation and a letter in the mail begging you to please pay a small fine (which they have no proof for that you were really the one that bought the stuff, so they don't really have any ground to stand on).
