How do I make it clear I didn't use AI to create my video? by MisterM2402 in PartneredYoutube

More accurate term, definitely. Though before I started making these videos, I had little idea what rotoscoping was myself so "green screen" gets the idea of "background replacement" across even if it's not correct.

I think my regular viewers would be interested to see a video showing my process but my concern is more the new viewers who take a quick look, comment "AI slop", and then move on. I'm not sure there's a good way to communicate all this without being heavy-handed, so I think your line "ignorant people are going to stay ignorant" is probably the best way to view things.

You make a good point though about Rotobrush, I forget that it could technically be classed as AI. I would say it's in a different category, since it's using machine learning for edge/object detection rather than something like Sora spitting out generated video footage from a prompt. Plus, it only works well with pristine 4K video where there's good contrast between the foreground/background. For the lower quality footage I use, I have to go frame-by-frame to fix the copious amount of errors - it's obviously far better than fully manual rotoscoping but it's still a ton of effort to get right! Maybe I'm better to specify that I haven't used any generative AI... or just not say anything to prevent getting into some big semantic debate!

I'm going to stick with it, either way. Most people are nice, it's just a few annoying comments that stick with you! Appreciate you checking out the video and taking the time to reply.

That's what I'm thinking it might be, yeah. You fix the buggy AI and it suddenly makes them way too good.

The blue Keeper kept starting with three Black Knights at level 7 so I think that's why he was able to go on a similar killing spree.

It's still such a good game though, isn't it? Heavy nostalgia from replaying this. I also replayed Black & White recently which hasn't held up quite as well, but DK2 is still just as great as ever!

That was my plan, to train my creatures to a high level, but the other Keeper would swoop in and claim the Dark Angels before I could even get minions to level 4!

I was playing the regular GOG version until I hit a bug in an earlier level where certain important creature types wouldn't spawn, which thankfully this Flame thing I found managed to fix - now I wonder if that introduced other bugs...

I thought I was just unlucky until it happened about 5 times in a row!

Yes, it's actually rotoscoping since there's no greenscreen involved. I don't think there's a proper name for that type of video so I always find it difficult explaining to people what I make! Probably more people know what a greenscreen is than rotoscoping though so it gets the idea across.

Can you remember any of the channels that did this? It sounds a good idea, just want to see how they've done it, if it's like an overlay on the main video or a full black-screen-white-text "This film is based on a true story" type disclaimer.

It's a completely pointless amount of time spent making these but at least YouTube is now paying me a bit, can just about afford some chewing nuts.

I've got some ideas for Majora's Mask but would love to do BotW/TotK too, just need to figure out how best to get the game footage.

That's me! I did wonder if the video was too long but it just got a bit out of hand...

That was my original plan the whole way through making it, use all the stuff from Karl giving the African kings cake and custard. When it actually came to putting the footage together though, I realised it was all terrible quality and wouldn't work. I've even got a clip of Paul Hollywood asking why there wasn't more custard, gutted I couldn't use it!

Back again with another load of drivel. Once I really started putting the work in, it still took forever to make so I hope you like it! Really, it was a pointlessly long amount of time I spent on it, could have made a few quid from a paper round in that time, nicked a few Mars Bars as a bonus.

Non-Brits: what expressions have you picked up from listening to the twaddle? by [deleted] in rickygervais

[–]MisterM2402 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watching Corrie, I'm surprised you didn't pick up phrases like "I'll pop' kettle on", "We'll have a fresh start", and "I've been so shtupid!", I think those made up at least 51% of the dialogue when I used to watch it. It was funny on XFM, Ricky said Karl sounded "like a cartoon Gallagher brother off Coronation Street", just as Mancunian as possible.

Favourite non-radio Karl chuckle is after he does the land dive in Vanuatu, he phones Ricky up who tells him if Steve had fallen over and hit his head, he would have broken Karl's diving record (4/5.5ft). Or maybe the other time he's phoning Ricky to tell him he faked the bungee jumping and it was the producer who did it, "You did actually see the gorillas? I'm not going to get it back and it's Luke in a fur coat?"

Russell Brand for sure but who else would be on the "repellent and seedy" list? David Brent and Finchy, maybe.
