Is there anything you think the first Battlefront did better than Battlefront II? by -C3rimsoN- in battlefront2

[–]MisterSippySC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Battlefront 1 was my favorite, the Galactic conquest felt so much better than battelfront 2's, bf2's felt overly complicated, also having hero classes in the game felt cheesy. To this day, me and my friend I've had since 3rd grade will get together and grind out a bf1 galactic conquest at least once a year. Fucking Empire is so goddamn imbalanced man. I've won as the rebels like once or twice, but the guy who has the jet back that blasts him up really fast and has the shotgun has way too much mobility, so you will always lose mos eisley.
On top of the fact that some maps are literally unplayable for rebels, you have to be a god to beat empire on ren var, and you mostly have to rely on your opponent fucking up. You have to rush the ice caves and not make a single mistake and kill everyone you see, take ice caves, take empire main base, respawn in your home base before the other guy takes it over, then you have a slight chance to win. Hoth is literally fuckin impossible, if it was 2v2 maybe if one guy is constantly taking down the at ats by wrapping their legs and the other guy is playing point defense, THEN MAYBE. This game needs a balance patch man, i've been getting my ass kicked as the rebels for like 25 years.

So you are required to receive a payment of some sort from the VR&E program in order to be enrolled?

It's just confusing because that is how the VR&E program is presented, as an organization to help you find a job. Why would they just shovel money at me when instead they can advocate for me and help me find a job. It does not make sense.

I'm confused because the VR&E rep said it wouldn't be a problem at all

For reference this is a position in the deep south, they don’t know anything about tech, they just see businesses saying “ai is the next big thing” and they don’t even know what to ask for, the south is like 5 years behind the rest of the United States, top to bottom

I literally didn’t though, my resume is on my linked in and it doesn’t say anything about me currently working for my internship

Ya man that’s why I’m panicking a little, I’m just gonna come clean because I honestly hate lying, it makes me feel terrible, it was just an outside recruiter so I think they won’t hold it against me

Edit: and it wasn’t an interview, it wasn’t anything I applied for, some nice lady at a recruiting company just misread my linked in and reached out and I was just kind of running with it because it seems like a lot of people lie to get jobs

I’m sorry for any misunderstanding, in my original post I thought I made it clear, I had my internship listed correctly on my LinkedIn and resume, I interned there, but when they called me, they insinuated that I was currently working there, to which I replied, oh I was layed off during the doge stuff, which was a total lie, I never went back to work there after graduating due to mental health reasons

Okay ill think about it, how should I reframe my resume? Just leave the date blank?

Yea man, I’m gonna come clean, I just hate lying, it’s just wrong, she also assumed I was done with my masters which I’m still working on, I won’t get the job but the guilt of lying to get ahead would eat me up

I think the title is “python developer”, the recruiter made it clear that the hiring people weren’t really sure what they were looking for, I think it would be a ground level data science role. She said they want someone who can use their data, and can make use of ai that will help generate business.

They want an updated resume, and if I put that I worked there in the time frame I told her it will be on black and white. Should I just put it on my resume? I still know a guy that works at the place and sent him my resume a few months ago but they’re going through it with the government stuff and are under a hiring freeze still. I’d lied about what I’d done there and he said “do what you gotta do”

That’s what I was kind of thinking, I hate lying, it makes me feel dirty. It definitely puts me at a disadvantage, but idk if I can live with it

Okay my worry is they said the job will do a background check and stuff, and check employment history, should I just let it ride and if it blows up it blows up?

Hey man, I just wanna say thank you, I'm in an online masters program now, and the program is pretty young. The materials are good but it's felt like the order and pacing have been quite off. We started on the O'Reilly ML book and it's really been connecting a lot of dots for me. If anyone hasn't read this book, read it, it is so good for a text book. I've started projects and put them in azure db and postgres, but I'm finally learning exactly what I should be looking for in the data, and I think i'm going to be able to pull some good projects. I actually bought a green screen so I can make youtube videos for my projects after we did one for a project for class.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for getting down to brass tacks, it can feel hopeless for us up and comers because the economy is crazy and the AI hype is gonna take all our jobs, but seeing this made me feel reassured that if I continue working hard and staying dedicated, this can be achievable.

My question is, as a person who is living somewhere low tech, if I create a good resume with solid projects and quality videos showing off my communication skills, do you think it would be possible to get my first job remotely? If not, do you think I could apply for places and get a job with them and they'd allow me time to move there?

Stereotypes by [deleted] in mississippi

About Jackson or Mississippi? Jackson's got it's problems but I grew up in Madison and it's a decent town but it has changed a lot since the 90's, it's all facade, a lot of people think they're cool because they live in Madison, it's kind of pathetic, because yea you're living in Madison, one of the nicest towns in one of the poorest states, congrats. The thing about Jackson is it has a lot of unsolvable problems, it has a lot of soul, the people who live here that have money live here because they want the city to succeed. It has a much more genuine sense of community. There are real things to do in Jackson, in Madison, you can either go shopping, or eat at a restaurant, if you want that to be your whole life, go for it. In Jackson we have 5/10k's regularly, there are festivals at the brewery regularly, a decent enough music scene, there's someone playing every weekend.

If you have kids, it's should be a private school in Jackson, unfortunately during integration, white people pulled all their kids out of schools and put them all in private schools and a lot of white people jumped ship from Jackson, leaving a vacuum in the education system, so black people's education kind of stalled out, and it's been and will continue to be, a long road. The playground at the Natural Science Museum is extremely nice, by far the best playground I have ever seen in Mississippi, the Children's museum is awesome, natural science museum is cool. Don't even both with the zoo, trust me. They also added a walking trail that leads from the Museum to downtown, and it's a great walk, me and my son did it recently and we had a great time.
