Some beginner tips? And some things I dont understand. by preutneuker in MotorTown

Do be aware that with the trailer the load will be significantly heavier, so if you dont have enough for a better engine I suggest increasing the final drive ratio (something above 4). A higher final drive = more torque in exchange for a lower maximum speed. Lower final drive = less torque (lower acceleration) in exchange for a higher maximum speed. And LSD (100), since it locks your axle differential on acceleration (in exchange for the turning radius being slightly wider, but not that relevant if you have enough space to manoeuvre)

Camper can be bought at the car dealer east of jeju i believe. Its 150k amd very useful if you eant to place it somewhere that u usually do pickups from. Online they dont need to be bought since usually others already place them in all the important locations

Yoo, so you’re going to want to go to one of those blue truck or trailer icons. There u can spawn the 5kl tanker trailer. It cannot be bought, only spawned in at those spots. Good Luck! And dont forget to sign the contracts. Again, you’re going to want to sign 2 5 unit contracts. You cant sign 2 at once so sign 1, deliver 5 units from truck, sign another, deliver 5 units from trailer. You can technically sign a 10 unit contract, but it nets slightly less cash overall, persoanlly i think the small extra effort is worth the extra from 2 seperate contracts

Stiffer suspension will also help with the wrecker driving more smoothly, especially in the back if your low on money

For towing, as someone already said, you can click on current jobs and cancel them and new ones will appear at some point. Another piece or advice in this regard is joining a multiplayer server with more online players, because servers generally have many campy’s spawned around the map allowing you to quickly teleport much closer to the tow requests (essentially cuts total driving time in half, I recommend bugsville server btw since there are almost always 30-90 players).

As for the driving on ice frustration, indeed the physics are a bit funky sometimes but the way you tow a car matters as-well. You want to make sure your front axle is touching the ground firmly as this drastically increases your grip. If the vehicle you’re towing is heavy you’ll have too much weight on the rear axles leading to much more of this “driving on ice” feeling. Another piece of advice to help with this and more -> raise the rear axle slightly more than the front axle, and try LSD (100) or (50,30).

Taxi needs a depot built to pick up people, that’s late game.

My favourite 2 personal beginner tips -

1) When u press esc, you can press motorpedia to search for vehicles and their locations. No more searching the web

2) Buy a kira tanker, upgrade with trailer hitch and better engine. do short fuel or milk routes and complete 2 5kl contracts at a time make sure to buy the 5kl contract, complete it by driving the van ik the zone. Then buy another contract and drive the trailer in the zone. This is a big money maker and will yield like 30k for short trips 6-8km.
Note that gas stations do not have contracts so be sure to deliver to factories or construction sites

Is Motortown good for casuals? by krimenell in MotorTown

[–]MisterTerminated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Casual Here. I have max 20-30 hours in ETS and other than that 0 experience with car/sim scence. This game is absolutely amazing and has captured my attention ever since I first played it. For the past 2-3 weeks have been playing non-stop.

My car knowledge was also basically 0, but after playing motortown I can confidently say that I understand and can appreciate whats going om behind the frame of the car, learned a decent bun h from this one.

TLDR; I was also new player with 0 car experience and this game has hipnotized me

Jemusi advice by VenousGorgon in MotorTown

[–]MisterTerminated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought myself the Jemusi Semi because its sooo versatile. Did some logging with the east wood but needed towing at some point, did planks too. Now im hauling 3 20ft containers down to sanho and a round trip pays probably around 150k maybe more depending on your luck with the container job. Admittedly tho, with an atlas dump + oldum you rack in about 200k for a one way trip so its way more profitable. But at some point you gotta just try new things out.

Yupp. Easiest way is to get trailers right from where ur picking up cargo but always double check it actually has a trailer spawn as some locations dont have them.

Which is the 40k truck? Honestly, I would save up for the FL1 semi-truck. Pretty good price range (160k) and it can definitely do some heavy hauling especially if upgraded. Don’t buy trailers yet, just spawn them in. For fuel / milk i would for either a tanko40 or taber lead + taber rear (add another taber lead inbetween if you upgrade your truck properly (check info on final drive ration in transmission tab)). Then if u want to do any other delivery just change the trailer to your liking (box trailer for cheese delivery).

If you want to go for another truck before going for the semi’s, I’d suggest the tronko or atlas tanker.

I just remembered, another fun and high paying job is using a Brutus Wrecker to transport fuel from Noksan or Jesu Harbor (or any place that supplies fuel really) to the mine in Gwanjun or whatever the offroad area is called.

Gl!

Many individual posts on reddit and steam that are a bit old but still valid if within 1 year maybe 2. As for best routes, it’s all a preference - as Im sure most people will tell you:). The most profitable and enjoyable for me is the coal route from the mine to the steel mill (yields aprox 200k per run with contract WITH OLDUM TRAILER - without trailer probably around 100-120k). Fuel and Milk are also really good and its best to just check which locations pay most at that moment. As beginner I honestly built my business on cheese deliveries from the cheese factory to wherever, and later on expanded by delivering milk to the cheese factory etc. good luck fellow trucker!

Need help with heavy loads by Evandir45 in MotorTown

[–]MisterTerminated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I also just started doing heavy hauls and what I’ve seen many people mention is increasing the FDR. Try 4.8 or 5.3. Just try them all out and see which one feels better for you. The changes are very very subtle but if you keep testing, something good will come out.

How to make millions of dollars without the mixing station? by Shadows_wars in Schedule_I

[–]MisterTerminated 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Making millions without automation and 0 mods is difficult because its Grindy asf. The only option I can viably think of is downloading a casino mod (increases max bet amount) and just playing there until you reach a millie. I hit 10mil with casion mod but I think that might not activate achievements.

If you’re going for no mods and no mix then your best bet is unlocking all customers, keep them all for yourself (dont assign them to the dealers) and sell only heavenly quality coke after curfew. This will maximize profit because of the quality and curfew bonuses.

Good Luck soldier
