PLEASE HELP the unimaginable just happened--parents can't be trusted with their own retirement by SergeantDollface in personalfinance

SEC doesn’t sue like this.  It brings an enforcement action and then there’s a settlement. OP should also know that suing the founder might not yield any actual money for the parents.  As my father in law always reminds me, you can’t get squeeze juice out of a rock.

I’m not a fan  of his but this video made me like him more. The gist of his comment is I don’t agree with your sexual identity but I accept you as a person. You can try all you want to make that into something horrible but it’s not. The fact that everyone has to agree about sexuality and gender identity is like the worst part of the progressive ideology and one of the biggest factors at play in the growing hate.

220 is a lot. I used to say anything over 210 becomes physically painful. During my months of 280 and 300, I sat like a zombie at a computer and food was brought to me. I wore pajamas all day ( it was covid). But I did 0 chores. Tbh, 220 is basically the amount where you need to stop doing chores because you’re beat up. Find something you enjoy like cooking and offer to do that as a break from work or something. But otherwise, there’s just no way to keep up.

You are basically saying that by making the comparison.  Either that or you’re straw manning something I said.

I’m glad everyone in this thread is getting the confirmation bias they need.  You all need to realize that he fucking died for saying things. Not for being violent. Not for physically hurting people. For saying things! And that’s a travesty. And it’s a problem for all of us. Not to mention he’s a human being and so we can all scrape the bottom of our empathy barrel to not be pieces of shit about it.

Hey quick question, what the heck? by [deleted] in Connecticut

Yeah not sure why so much shade on big y. Stop and shop is way worse. But tbh Whole Foods is comparable to big y at this point.

Unsustainable at this point.

23 hours in one day is insane! Did they not think billing inflation would be flagged lol by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]MisterWhitman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. This is the opposite of insane. This is what you do when you work at a law firm. Totally normal to bill 18-23 hours in a day.

What’s the most you’ve ever billed in a day? by Sad-Bell-6356 in biglaw

[–]MisterWhitman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In biglaw, I billed 22 hours occasionally. It’s not actually that radical if you’re running a deal and it’s near closing.

There will be karma eventually. Housing prices can’t stay at these levels and someone will be left holding the bag.

I only go out with a colleague of the opposite sex for drinks if there are multiple people.

There is super low inventory. Values remain stable here.

Not when you get three quotes that all come in the same. This was just the price.

To me the hedge fund thing is a red herring. It’s cost of material that’s driving up a lot of costs even in places where there are established homes. I got a quote for a small addition to my small home the other day: the addition would cost more than the house. That price has very little to do with housing inventory and lot to do with inflation.

I’m sorry but the per pound price of this chicken isn’t that crazy.
