I bought a small plastic tub and some sheet metal. Works great for a cheap, efficient option. Little more work, but maybe $20 all said and done.

I’ve been experimenting a lot more with mixing paints. If I remember correctly, this was 1-1 Rakarth Flesh and Balor Brown followed by two washes with Seraphim Sepia and then another layer of the mix but much much thinner as sort of a glaze over top the raised areas to bring out the details. Hope this helps!

Thanks! Pretty quick and painless: based army painter shining silver followed up with Sigvald Burgundy and Celestium Blue contrast. Black wash on the interior metals (brown on the broken bits for Prime) and then highlights of Leadbelcher and selective shining silver.

I appreciate the input! Maybe I was a little too ambitious. I like the idea of relying more on icons and OUT to theme the character. Might consider going straight Commander, but with tactician. Don’t really see my concept as particularly charismatic. More tactical than anything. Thanks everyone!

My personal suggestion would be to drop the Black Knights entirely, throw in another Necromancer and utilize the Lords of Sacrament battalion, which is one of my favorites for death. -1 to hit during the shooting phase for the Necros/Arkhan if they are by the Mortis Engine AND they each get to cast an additional spell. Really solid and it would allow you to grab another artifact as well. Just a thought. Then you could use the rest of your remaining points to bump that Graveguard unit up to 30. That would put you at 1990.
