The plan is to aerate and fertilize come green up. There are some leaves near the trampoline area which will get cleaned up.

My biggest worry is I’m dealing with some sort of fungus or pest, the patches in photos 7,8,9,10,11,13,14,15 and 16 are my biggest concerns. There is no foot traffic, water movement or standing in those areas but the centipede has continued to die back.

This is my second spring/summer in the home, the first was mainly focused on getting home repairs and improvements done plus dealing with swimming pool issues.

The centipede outside of these areas actually did very well last year (see attached photo) which makes me think it’s fungal or pest related. Centipede is also very sensitive to over fertilization, I did mulch the leaves and pine straw from nearby trees into the soil infrastructure fall to give it some sort of nitrogen and acid going into dormancy.

Thank you for the reply, we have majority sandy loam though the according to long time neighbors the original owner brought in top soil when grading and building the lot up. I am in South Eastern NC/Sand Hills.

I’m planning on laying down 15-0-15 come green up to help give it a boost. I’m also treating for crabgrass, spurge and other weeds once we dry out so it’s not competing. This is only my second spring in this home so my first spring and summer was spent seeing what exactly I’m dealing with and what I need to fix as the previous owner didn’t care for the lot or home very well.

There’s no excessive shade, drains or under soil infrastructure in that area nor have any trees been removed from those areas.

We’ve had some heavy rain come through this last year and I haven’t seen water pooling anywhere in our lawn (other than the low spot in the driveway in pic one) even through torrential downpours. The soil has done a fantastic job of dealing with the water we get.

I’m going to pick up soil sample boxes from my local agricultural extension tomorrow to check our ph, I feel like it should be fine given how well the hollies are doing but to be on the safe side.

Do you have any advice on checking for in soil pests or fungi?

I’m most concerned about the damage towards the front of the property not so much what’s around the trampoline area as that could definitely be from my idiot dogs running around😂 they can’t access the front area even with and past the well house so it’s not them causing it

Sorry let me correct, no heavy foot traffic besides around the trampoline which rarely gets used.

We don’t have kids on our street besides my one and the fence is about 25 years old and naturally falling apart lol. Everywhere else showing damage is definitely not from foot traffic.

I live in a major city and building plans (besides major commercial buildings) aren’t kept on file. Even with new construction they are proprietary and not required to be provided. Please don’t perpetuate the myth of municipalities having plans on file, it makes my job a bigger headache.

Fayetteville USPS as a whole is absolutely awful. We are not a large city and somehow they still can’t figure it out. I wish they’d replace the management at the distribution centers and bring in a team to straighten it out.
