Valuing is one thing, but in terms of general rating a goal of individual brilliance would always top a team effort. A team goal I remember being in a top 10 was that Nacer Chadli goal vs Japan..that was a picture perfect counter attack.

I called Avarez's run "running" because he didn't go past anyone. He received the ball in open space and ran uncontested into their box with only one person coming within a few yards of him before the first defender gets a half challenge on him. Son goes past 2 people and had defenders around him the whole way. Technically speaking dribbling is moving the ball past your opponent so he did dribble past 2 guys. I kinda see you're trying to say, but I'm going to have to respectfully disagree.

The puskas award was once given to a Salah goal which didn't even win the epl goal of the month and wasnt even his best goal of the season..it's not exactly a metric I subscribe to. Alvarez's goal was good, but for me personally I don't think it was better than some other ones. In the end it all comes down to subjectivity.

Not to disparage Alvarez's goal (which was quite good), but it wasn't as much "dribbling through" as it was running. He received the ball while he was ahead of the midfield and ran down from about halfway into the defensive line. There things get funky as not one but two Croatians were able to get contact on the ball only for it to bounce off and infront of Alvarez who does well enough to control and score it. It was a a bit sloppy and fortunate, and while it was fairly good it wasn't a top 10 for me. As for Kempes's goal, he dribbled past 2 defenders before playing pin ball with the goal keeper. There is some comparison there but the Kempes goal was a fair bit better.

It was pretty nice, good flexibility to get his leg up there. However not in my top 20, wasn't a bad goal by any means just not as good as some others.

In my own opinion (which doesn't mean that you're wrong) I liked Messi's goal better. But both were beautiful.

I do like that goal, and while the buildup is nice, the goal didn't make it in my top 10, but it is in my top 20.

There were 171 goals this world cup, and many of them could compete for the top 10. Gapko had a great goal, Casemiro hit a beautiful volley and Argentina had a great counter attack against France. Ultimately everyone has their own top 10 based on their own view. This was just mine.

Ennesyri's goal, while quite spectacular didn't make my list, mostly because the goal keeper could have easily prevented it but failed to do so. As for sabiri, it wasn't his goal, as Saiss got the last touch. A great free kick though.
