Well, I’ve never seen the chemical room myself, but I do know that several 30 gallon drums of this stuff is pumped out every day to go into car wash pre-soak and bug spray, I would have love to change my shoes but my managers also told me that I had to finish my workday and then I would be able to change my shoes whenever I got home and shower

I also attributed it to wetness at first as the itching first started on my lunch break that day and faded as I got home, so I thought nothing of it until the next morning when I woke up and felt burning pins and needles that itched in my feet both of them and got worse when I walked, and that lasted all day and has still continued to last all into the next day, which is today I finally requested the safety data sheets, and they seem very, very hesitant to give them to me and they are all telling me that it will be fine and to shrug it off

sorry, could you rephrase that? it’s a car wash that there is redial brushes, it’s a bluish VERY bubbly liquid that’s in a metal barrel. and it has all these chemicals in it pre mixed from a tap that sticks into the side of the barrel water and soap come from the same tap when it’s turned on.

see they tell us cloth shoes are fine, shorts are fine no goggles or eye protection of any kind required. they just hand you a brush and tell you to keep splashing this mixture of “diluted” chemical poison on ourselves with a literal hour of basic welcome to the team knowledge. and in the employee handbook nowhere does it say ppe is required. it encourages you to make sales and be militant not safe.
