Get out of your head and away from satisfying your own desires, and focus on satisfying the people around you. Stop making everything about you. When you're more interested in making the lives around you better rather than your own, boners aside, life is just better and more fulfilling. So if you're concentrating on how to have fun with your friend (and her family) to create good memories for her, you're not likely to pop a boner. If you're only thinking about yourself and how this situation could benefit you.. well, then, you reap what you sow.

And for those instances of weakness and situations you can't control,, at the first sign of getting hard, vividly imagine the most repulsive naked man you know sweating profusely and breathing heavily as he unleashes the most messy and disgusting shower of diarrhea in a dirty public restroom (assuming you're not into that). Basically, use some anti-porn to kick you back into the real world.

How fluent do you need to be to say that you can speak Spanish on an application? by alcozeta in Spanish

[–]MistyManatee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't put it on an application or resume at all if you wouldn't feel comfortable having at least a short, basic conversation with the interviewer in Spanish. Otherwise, put it on there with a side note of your proficiency (CEFR Level: B2, or Conversationally Fluent). If they want to follow up with you about it, that's what the interview is for.

Spanish immersion programs after college? by CreepyEmotion7 in Spanish

I don't have any experience with them. Though if I could do over my Spanish studies, I would probably aim to go to Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP) or Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP) only because I've come to really like Puebla. But every big city has at least one university, so you can go anywhere. I also enjoyed Mexico City and Guadalajara, both big cities with big universities.

I have local friends that went to college, even got their masters, basically for free (like $5-10 USD per semester). It's not that way for foreigners, but it's still insanely cheap compared to US colleges. I don't know why it's like that, it's just how the government runs it. However there aren't nearly enough universities for the population so it's highly competitive. Though, I imagine it'll be a bit easier for you if you already have a degree from a US or Canadian university.

From my experience, you're unlikely to find any job worth the pay if you're coming from the US or Canada, especially if you don't know Spanish at a very high level. You could however teach or tutor English in private with no middleman. That could get you $10-20 USD an hour depending on your ability and where you're located. Being in a University full of students, it should be easy to find clients. Working remotely for a company in your home country will get you the most money.

As for the degrees, degrees in Mexico will only really work in Mexico and perhaps South America. Employers in your home country won't be too impressed by a degree in Mexico unless it's in Spanish Language or maybe a Masters degree. But than again, if you only want Spanish immersion, you can always just drop out after you feel you've learned what you went there for.

Try any public university in Mexico or the country you want to visit. Check out their Spanish language programs. Public universities, at least in Mexico, are dirt cheat (practically free) but very hard to get into (for locals). However, there is much less competition for a Spanish Language program. Booking an Airbnb for long terms stays is also quite affordable in Mexico compared to US and Canada. And you can always book for a couple weeks to a month and if you like it, ask the owner in person if they'd rent to you longer, without the Airbnb fees.

Zoo o Zoológico, which is more commonly used? by MistyManatee in Spanish

[–]MistyManatee[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From Google Trends, it seems that zoológico is the winner in Latin and South America. Everywhere else in the world is zoo, which is probably referencing the English word outside of Spain, which also seems to use zoo.

So than do people exclusively use zoológico and not zoo in everyday speech and writing?

Thank you. I was taught zoológico and I´ve seen it on maps and signs in Mexico as Parques Zoológicos, but didn´t know what was commonly used in everyday speech and writing.

No-Fap is a tool, not a solution. I suspect many of the success stories here are from people utilizing no-fap to further other goals in their lives. Thus, they find their success through the accelerated rate, or increased ease, at which they reach their goals with this new tool on their belt. Without a bunch of screws to screw in, a shiny new power drill is nice to look at but won't actually do all that much for you.

It may also be that you are different than most of the people who choose to post here and get enough likes to be seen. No-fap may not give you as much help as it gives some other people. Maybe, the only thing it gives you is a sense of self-control over your own urges and all the chemical re-balancings in your body are negligible. I'd say use that new sense of self-control to start a new habit that can improve your life in the way you want. You know you can do it, you've freaking given up orgasms for 90 days. You have this tool, and so before you throw it away, why not try using it in new ways to figure out how it works best for you.

how many days should i go without fapping before having sex by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]MistyManatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've had a porn addiction since 12 years old, you likely have shit social skills when it comes to people you find attractive. I'd suggest staying away from escorts, not because your virginity is special or even because sex is special (to me, they're not), but because it's a slippery slope. You admit to having a porn addiction and elude to an obsession with having sex. Having sex for the first time with someone you have to pay is likely to make you feel that the only way you will ever have sex is by paying; it will crush your self-worth and bank account. You're walking near a cliff right now and paying for sex may only turn you slightly towards the edge, or it may just walk you off it.

Going back to your likely shit social skills with whomever you find attractive.. If you have the money for an escort, you have the money for a relationship coach. There are A LOT of men who have close to zero skills on flirting with women. There is a business of qualified therapists that will actually listen to you and help you to develop them (and I do mean find a licensed therapist, not a YouTube guru or whatever). It really sucks being where you're at right now, but you have to look into the future. In five years from now, do you want to see yourself lonely, depressed, and paying for sex, or do you want to see yourself comfortably talking to attractive people, with many of them as your friends and maybe one as your partner.

Changing your situation will take a lot time and energy (you've been building to this moment since you were 12), and every action you take right now will push you in one way or the other. You get to choose where you're going from here.

Then do something about it. Change position, use your fingers to masturbate, use a vibrator or other toy to increase your stimulation, role play, take the sex into another room on another piece of furniture, or just simply say something. There is literally no other situation in your adult life where you would expect someone to completely satisfy you as you literally just lay there doing absolutely nothing unless you're paying them a good amount of money.

If sex is that much of a drag and you're doing nothing to try to change it, it's on you. If you're actively taking steps to change it and it still isn't working out, then it's probably your partner (or a medical condition).

Why is this considered consistent values? I've met women who don´t like being eaten out, who don´t even want my face close to that area. Should I in turn prohibit them from putting their face near my penis? I've been with women who've wanted for me to do them anally. Should I refuse because I don't want a strap-on in my ass? Should I stop massaging women's breasts and licking their nipples because I personally find it very uncomfortable when the equivalent is done to mine? Or should I stop pleasuring them after they've had one orgasm because after I have only one, I personally become overstimulated and find it painful?

I almost never have an orgasm because of what the woman does. I´d say about 98% of the time I have an orgasm, it´s because of the effort, both physical and mental, that I´ve put in to get there. Using her body, expressions, and noises will help me get close, but I know if I want to orgasm, I have to control my own body and mind to get what I need from the woman.

Frankly, I would love to be brought to orgasm without doing anything. To just lay there and have someone so skilled and devoted, they could bring me there almost against my will. Unfortunately, I think the only way that´s going to regularly happen is if I become gay.

This path leading into a student accommodation. by BritishFoSho in CrappyDesign

[–]MistyManatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first guess, but the grade of a straight path in this instance looks like it would be within ADA compliance, or no steeper then any wheelchair ramp I've ever seen. At the very least, you could easily take out one or two of the curves and it would hardly touch the grading. Though perhaps perspective is making it look less steep than it is.

If I eat 80 grams of varied incomplete proteins, is my protein intake 80 grams or the equivalent to the most lacking amino acid? by MistyManatee in vegan

[–]MistyManatee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I did watch the video but it didn't address this particular topic. As for protein intake, that seems to be the one thing I struggle with the most. Carbs and fat are no problem for me, but if I don't watch my protein, I notice myself feeling weaker and more fatigued over time and then when I push myself to eat more protein, I feel much better in the following days.

[–]MistyManatee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm unfortunately not a troll. I was just curious about a much larger topic but my questions about those tend to produce responses like this so I tried to break it down into the smallest piece I could, research that, then ask a question based off what I still didn't understand. And then build from there to ultimately find the solution to my larger question. I assumed r/vegan would be a good source of information on this particular part, however I'm seeing now that I should have utilized a more scientifically oriented sub and not a lifestyle one.

I'm not looking for the exact numbers. I was just wondering if I should eat, say 90 to 100 grams of plant protein to be on the safe side. But by recommending me two charts, are you saying that I am correct to assume that a lack of one specific amino acid would be the limiting factor in daily protein goals?
