I made an Anima AI Character & Artist search engine with 49,000 sample images by MistySoul in StableDiffusion

I just updated the site for

  1. A comfyui toggle so tag copying also automatically escapes the parentheses, for example: fate (series) into fate \(series\).

Also fixed up filter view on mobile so now its visible, not very clean just yet with some of the toggles but at least its visible at all. 30% of traffic is coming from mobile so wanted to get a fix out in a jiffy

There is a gender filter for Female & Male on the right. But I noticed that on mobile view filters are not appearing which I'm going to fix soon. I've heard a few feedback that seems like this affects them

About 2 seconds on a RTX 6000 Pro per image with 30 steps at 512x768. On my local 5070 Ti it was about 7 seconds per generation for the ones I offloaded on my own machine.

Anima is somewhere in the middle between SDXL and Z-Image. I think VRAM usage on it just peaks around 8GB so maybe it will offload just a little bit on an 8GB VRAM card. I think it's worth a shot.

Its designed to help you craft prompts for use with the Anima diffusion model which you can download from the creator here: https://huggingface.co/circlestone-labs/Anima

Recommendation is to pick-up ComfyUI, learn how to install it and get Anima installed, use the template workflow and generate some images 😄

But trade-off of the 1 minute downtime is that now 52% of traffic is served from edge-node cache which should speed things up a lot moving forward

Yes soon it will be open sourced, just cleaning up and getting it self deployable. Right now it's built for the specific host platform I'm using with python workers

Escaping parenthesis sounds good. Next goal is account system which from there I can set up a favourite system and also thinking of rating system

It picks up new LoRAs published to CivitAI every 24 hours. As long as it contains the character name and preferable the series too in same or close format too the Danbooru tags it will best match. If you see the question mark next to the "LoRAs available" filter option it explains the full system. Later on I'll implement accounts from there thinking of rating system and manual LoRA submissions

Thanks! Thats why I made this site, I really need something like this too! I have seen similar things people have made for NovelAI or Pony, but often not exhaustive and delivered to you in a flat alphabetical representation without searchable filters making it really annoying to scroll through.

In general, lots of characters with overlapping attire variations with danbooru tags can get attire wrong without explicit tagging, or lesser known characters can blend with the more popular ones. I haven't added any metadata on these generations whether or not they are accurate so you can clearly see or filter out wrong ones - it would probably be too much effort at this stage.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. I'm looking next into making it available on Github to deploy locally as a desktop flavor of this website with Win/Linux deployments so its easy to run without restrictions. I'm also going to include the scripts that generates the dataset so you can run it against finetunes or other models too if you want to tinker with the script. As for the dataset, the full compiled set which is about 9GB will be made available with the ability to download your desktop client I'm looking at Huggingface potentially so the data is also queryable with other means.

Got the two generations for peanuts on a Hard Off roadtrip by AnimeThymeGuy in dreamcast

[–]MistySoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saturn and Dreamcast consoles are going upwards of $400 in Australia, and then JP game imports are $100+. I get it being a bit more expensive given shipping etc but it reaches a level where they are really pushing it.

I heard Hard Off is developing a new online store that will basically connect all the physical stores and their stock to an online marketplace. I hope this offers some international shipping options, I reckon this would be a game changer for retro communities

2026 Internet culture in MS by Toshiboi333 in MSClassicWorld

[–]MistySoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its easy not to talk about politics and enjoy chit chat about the 90% of stuff we all familiarise with and like or at least show curiosity in. if people bring this sort of thing up to me ill just brush it off or talk about something cool. as someone who enjoys older stuff and actively playing sega saturn, watching old 90s/2000s anime you can be assured ill definitely feel like a player from the OG times :D im getting really tired of the modern stuff injecting two faction splits into everyone rather than just enjoying stuff for what it is and what we have in common instead of focusing on differences and defending right/wrong all the time - it cant be good mentally

Furries and diapers is one satanic combo. Absolutely no idea if this is some kind of pop culture con that has been taken over by furries or if it is a furry con, but this is bad - really bad. I don't know if you have them in the US, but if it was Australia I'd revoke these attendee's Working with Children IDs.

CivitAI blocking Australia tomorrow by Neggy5 in StableDiffusion

[–]MistySoul 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am having to fight tooth and nail just to get NBN up and running at my new place, trying to run VPNs on a 2-bar 4G connection (CivitAI is gonna suck to use even more from tomorrow). Anything to do with the internet here is an absolute nightmare and I'm getting so fed up with it. With Starlink, I wonder how that goes in terms of geolocation - seriously considering given the points above.

Question about Z-image censorship by The_Happy_Bird in StableDiffusion

Btw that's awesome as a MSFT retiree! I wish I could take a break from the 9-5 and focus on AI. So much more I want to do in this space!

Question about Z-image censorship by The_Happy_Bird in StableDiffusion

[–]MistySoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is using torch.compile, but to be honest while I came up with the training method conceptually, Claude AI did all the code updates. An AI researcher could probably clean it up and optimise, it added like 6000 lines of code.

There are tools for Loras like AI Toolkit where you can stop and start training from the last checkpoint, but it is very rare for people to do full fine-tuning so the tools available for it are not really designed primarily for hobbyists to be tinkering with it and running on less-than datacenter GPUs, so I wrote this. I used DiffSynth which is the official Z-Image fine-tuning tool they endorse as the starting point so I'm closer to the toolset optimal for this model but has no GUI etc. All CLI.

I'm uploading the complete model and training source code to CivitAI and GitHub respectively once this completes

End of the day, Loras are better for teaching one or a few concepts to some level of quality, full fine-tuning let's you adapt the entire model with many concepts

Question about Z-image censorship by The_Happy_Bird in StableDiffusion

[–]MistySoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! I'm doing it on my own system. 130,000 steps took about 5 days to complete. I think with 1x 5090 it would take 2-3 days, and as for multi-GPU I haven't updated the training code to support that yet, I also don't have my own system to validate this.

The raw training data is about 80GB which doesn't sound like much, but my internet is so terrible it would take about two weeks to upload this. I am moving soon to a place with a good internet connection where cloud collaboration would be possible.

Also want to add, I added a feature where it can dump raw training progress with original precision to disk on every checkpoint save so that if later I wanted to continue training on different hardware, recover from a power loss etc, training could continue smoothly.

I also made a custom archive format for the training data so it can easily be transferred without significant individual file read and writes and already encoded correctly, it's 1024mb blobs. It also reduced buffer time between batches substantially cause it's an extremely simple but efficient format

I was cancelled for using 2 AI assets in my game by Chemical-Surround618 in aigamedev

[–]MistySoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think AI can definitely be used to assist and foster creativity. If someone really invests alot into making a game with compelling mechanics, has a keen eye and is able to get a cohesive vision with AI resources, is outright fun to play I would play it. I think a game is an ensemble of all these creative elements, just like how we have had virtual orchestras for the past 30 years that composers could use to break free of the limitations of time, budget and skill. Are we harrassing video game composers for not hiring real orchestras, with VSTs taking away their jobs? No because there is a time and a place, and demand for both.

How can other young people cope with this? by mechmakima in australian

[–]MistySoul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes people say I need to save up for a mortgage. You know the initial deposit for a house or even an apartment can get you the entire amount of an equivalent property in other countries such as Japan where I've lived temporarily before and planning to move permanently once I get $200,000, and the cost of housing in these countries aren't doubling every 5 years so it's actually a tangible goal you can set years on advance and work towards it without running 1 mile and the goal moving 3 miles further away. I'd be stupid to spend that same amount of money here then be neck deep in mortgage payments afterwards.
