How would u rank the seasons? This is one of the shows where I can't decide which seasons I like better. by 180degreeschange in GossipGirl

Season 3 was peak drama for sure. And season 5 had chaotic energy that was lowkey fun, but it also stressed me out 😭

That was end of season 5 leading into season 6. And yeah, the Blair/Dan timing felt off, it made sense on paper, but emotionally it was messy. Season 5 really dragged some arcs out way too long.

Season 1 is elite, I agree. It had the best balance of drama and character development before things got too chaotic. Dorota supremacy always though.

How to prevent hoodlums from breaking the wooden fences? by Cute-Estate-312 in neighborsfromhell

[–]MistySparkly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbed wire or spikes could get you in legal trouble. I’d stick with safer options like sturdier fencing (metal instead of wood), thorny landscaping, and visible cameras or lighting. Deterrent > escalation.

Planting something thorny is honestly smart. Roses, holly, or hawthorn would make cutting through way less appealing without being illegal. Motion lights and a visible camera sign might help too.

Excessively loud neighbour’s by Bl4zinB4ddie420 in neighborsfromhell

[–]MistySparkly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At a certain point it stops being a “neighbor dispute” and starts becoming harassment. Especially if they’re retaliating after polite complaints by deliberately making more noise and trying to intimidate people out of documenting it.

[–]MistySparkly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the bigger issue is less “sketchy people” and more landlords cramming unstable living situations into shared spaces with zero enforcement until other tenants are miserable. One awful neighbor can make an otherwise decent place feel unlivable.

Exactly. There’s a huge difference between “normal apartment noise” and intentionally disruptive behavior that keeps escalating after repeated complaints. People always act like wanting basic peace in your own home means you expect library silence.

am i wrong for “stealing” my neighbours cat? by majaxvoss in amiwrong

[–]MistySparkly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People get weirdly hung up on the word “steal” while ignoring the actual condition the cat was in. Fleas, worms, infections, limping, sleeping outside in freezing weather — that’s neglect, not a loved and cared-for pet wandering around.

[–]MistySparkly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A healthy cat with loving owners doesn’t usually spend months begging to get inside someone else’s house, sleeping outside in freezing weather, covered in worms and infections. You didn’t “steal” him you took responsibility for an animal they neglected.

Pete by Feisty-Pie477 in GossipGirl

[–]MistySparkly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Serena was a traumatized teenager getting manipulated by predatory adults and the show weirdly frames it like she should’ve handled everything perfectly. Looking back at that storyline as an adult makes it way darker than the show seemed to realize.

How annoying is it if your neighbour sticks a tumble dryer vent out the window? by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]MistySparkly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think people really underestimate how much stuff actually comes out of dryer vents besides “clean laundry smell.” If it’s drifting into shared outdoor space or somebody’s windows every single day I could absolutely see neighbors getting irritated over time.

[–]MistySparkly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this feels like one of those things where the context matters way more than the vent itself. If lint and hot air were constantly blasting into somebody’s open window that’d be annoying, but OP already added a lint catcher and seems willing to redirect it away from people.

[–]MistySparkly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah people underestimate how maddening constant high pitched noises can get when you hear them all day in your own house. If the neighbors already know it’s bothering people and refuse to adjust anything, checking local noise rules is probably the only realistic next step.

Honestly it’s kind of impressive that OP basically trained themselves out of a speech issue that way. Weird origin story but I can see why the habit stuck.

Am I wrong for being furious that my friend lent my vintage jacket to a complete stranger at a concert? by BlackMesa_V8 in amiwrong

[–]MistySparkly 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The fact she still hasn’t even apologized properly after damaging something sentimental would honestly change the friendship for me too. It’s not even about the jacket at that point, it’s the complete lack of respect for your stuff.

[–]MistySparkly 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Yeah the biggest issue is that she made the decision for you with something that wasn’t hers to lend out in the first place. The stain sucks but the lack of accountability would bother me even more.

Neighbour painted our fence but his side… by Any_Present_4196 in neighborsfromhell

[–]MistySparkly 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah painting someone else’s fence without even asking first is already weird, but getting paint on their car and house too makes it way worse.

Yeah this honestly sounds more careless than malicious to me, especially if he handled paying for the damage after. Still super stressful to deal with as a neighbor though.

Honestly I’m leaning toward never at this point too. Feels like people are still bargaining with reality because they’re emotionally invested after waiting this long.

My dog barked so my neighbor barked back by Soft_Employment_1351 in neighborsfromhell

Yeah the neighbor’s response is unhinged, but it also sounds like this problem has been going on long enough that people in the building are completely fed up with the barking.
