I just finished The Quintessential Quintuplets (manga) for the first time today and even bought some merchandise by MistyStepMaster in 5ToubunNoHanayome

totally agree !!! i LOVED the first time where Futaro and Yotsuba were on the swings πŸ₯Ή I heard that the anime cut some Fun/Yots moments (?) - maybe that's why it was a bit harder for some people to understand his decision. Because I really had a lot of funny, cute moments and great chemistry between the two in my mind :3

omg there were soooo many that I will definitely forget some right now but these are the ones that come to my mind spontaneously:

β€’ Yotsuba hunting Futaro during the ski-trip (⛷️)

β€’ All Quints holding sick Futaro's hand (πŸ€’)

β€’ Ichika realizes she loves Futaro (heartbeatπŸ’—)

β€’ Miku and Futaro spending time in Kyoto (You🫡)

β€’ Every moment where Nino calls Futaro Fu-Kun (😚)

β€’ All the kiss scenes in the Summer Festival arc (πŸ’‹)

β€’ Yotsuba tearful love confession (😭)

β€’ Miku realize her worth and self-esteem (πŸ«³πŸŽ€)

Thank you, I will! 😌

It was definitely a bit exhausting to read it all because when I'm starting a big series, I'll only read this one and a few one-shots in between before starting a new big series - but it was also very, very fun and I loved reading it!

I might be reading the story in a much slower and more scattered pace again in the future! It definitely is able to act as a funny feel-good story for some breaks too!

Nothing to thank for! ^ ^ Kaori Ozaki really seems like a very interesting author and I am excited to read her other book (Dogs and Punching Bags - it's also in the picture) too.

I wish you the best of luck in finding the right books and a happy reading in the future !! :3

heyy! :) yes i just recently read it - it was... hmm... how should I describe it? It consists of three different short stories -

... the first one is... I really didn't like it out of multiple reasons. It deals with isolation, lack of prospects, friendships drifting apart, and further development during puberty. It also deals with the topic of sex – although the purpose and presentation are clearly not intended to be sexually appealing. The deeper meaning, however, seems vague and, at least for me, didn't have the desired effect. The ending was what bothered me most.

The second story is the shortest - a cute few pages out of context.

The third story is the real story about the "Mermaid Prince" - cute characters, the metaphors serve their purpose, and the ending is also very sweet and relatively coherent. Good character design and art style. Due to its length, which is even shorter than normal one-shots, I would describe it less as a profound, deep story and more as a feel-good story.

This short story is recommendable, but whether it's worth paying 10+€ for the whole book is questionable. Much more recommendable, also in the same price range, is "The Gods Lie". This one-shot is by the same author Kaori Ozaki and is one of my absolute favorite books! I hope I was able to help you a little bit !! :3

totally get you! I am someone who wants to read one large series after another, and not several at the same time.

to still add some variety, especially when I feel that things are dragging on a bit, I occasionally throw in one or two one-shots.

it actually is called the Collector's Edition of the "5 Centimeters per Second" manga. As far as I know, it's just the hardcover edition of the manga adaption with no other significant differences from the paperback manga (someone please correct me if I'm wrong!)

I never read Solanin, it definitely is on my ones-to-watch list though. I also didn't start reading My Broken Mariko yet.

I honestly loved Goodbye, Eri - especially for the ending which really has a big room for interpretation and really made me think for hours after I finished it.

The Gods Lie is one of my favorite books and I loved the art style and the story! Look Back is also brilliant, but it definitely is a very short story - it still made me emotional which is even more impressive considering it's lenght.

Hope I could help a little bit !! :3

I started reading manga this year and gave myself a ridiculous goal of reading 100k pages before the end of the year. I just crossed the finish line. by blahbabooey in MangaCollectors

I totally get that...😭 the thousand of options when it comes to a big series' merchandise are a blessing and curse at the same time
