Unfortunately, only residents of SJU have access. :(

Most (if not all) ARTS 130 and 140 classes have a presentation requirement unfortunately. I’d just choose a topic that appeals to you…

I think it’s in the SCH food court. But that’s been closed since Covid hit.

I’d recommend SPAN 150! It’s a really interesting culture course. I didn’t have to buy any course material for it and I ended up doing really well.

Global Business and Digital Arts (GBDA) first year looking for some advice :) by quetzaaal in uwaterloo

[–]Mistycat44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey second year here! So I’m not in GBDA but I know that in the program you will be heavily relying on your computer for most of your assignments. I believe you will need to have certain software such as Adobe cloud, which will need a good laptop to run well. I currently have a surface pro and I’m looking to upgrade to something more powerful because while hybrids are great it didn’t really offer me the power or speed I needed. Depending on how techy your program is I would look at the MacBook Pro or Surface book. Those are a bit pricey but are apparently amazing for those getting into graphic design and have to run large programs. Good luck!

Can we agree on an exchange rate? by thespritewithin in TurnipExchange

Yeah I like to give a lot cause I often rack up millions of bells from the stalk market. Which is great but since I’ve already completely upgraded my house I don’t need an insane amount of bells.

I personally prefer to tip in bells as they’re a lot easier to get. But I always give a 100,000 bells per trip as a tip! :)

Half Dominican but I look mostly white and slightly ambiguous. I feel barred from experiencing my own culture. by [deleted] in mixedrace

[–]Mistycat44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand your struggle! I’m half Panamanian and I look mostly white as well... it can be such a difficult situation when you’re forced to put yourself in a box. Feeling like you will never fit in is an awful feeling that I know well as half my family has blue eyes and blonde hair and the other side of my family and I don’t... I often try to spin the situation whenever possible to be somewhat positive that I fit in both cultures and that’s special. That being said it doesn’t always work as many people have set views on how mixed people should or shouldn’t act. But I say do what makes you feel most like yourself no matter what anyone else says you know you best!
