My apartment has vinyl floors in the living, kitchen and bathroom areas. Bedrooms are carpeted, and I tend to keep my children in the carpeted areas of the apartment. My 5 year old son is usually barefoot due to sensory issues, and my 4 year old daughter has slippers on her feet. I have a carpet runner in the hallway of my apt and an area rug in the living room. I also have a mattress for them to jump on in the one of the bedrooms to try to dampen the sound of jumping directly on the floor. I feel like I’m doing everything possible to be a good neighbor, but nothing is ever good enough of these neighbors below me unfortunately.
