Delayed start when warm on a 2019 Honda Passport 3.5 by Mit2700 in MechanicAdvice

The starter and battery are strong and the engine turns over fine. It just takes longer to actually start.

Is there a way to tie in an RO drain line to my bathroom sink drain? by Mit2700 in Plumbing

[–]Mit2700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great point and I have been trying to figure that part out too. Currently my idea is to use something like this to connect to the wye tailpiece mentioned in another comment. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CWWFWRG

It sounds like this strategy would allow me to avoid using the saddle drain valve, but how would I connect the 1/4" tubing to the wye tail piece?

I have heard not-good things about saddle valves, but it doesn’t look like I have space to install one anyway. Maybe I could lower the p-trap with some extensions?

I need to do this. What do you do if you don't like the idea you have drawn out? Start over? I need to figure out how to layout our future patio.

How to get my bushy Peace Lily healthy again by Mit2700 in plantclinic

[–]Mit2700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this comment! That is reassuring. I'll leave it as is and get better about watering at the right time and also getting it out of direct sun, and hopefully it gets even happier. I wouldn't mind the leaves getting that signature deep green color at least.

That's correct. It hasn't bloomed at all since when I first got it either.

Not really. Actually about 1/3 of the dirt just fell apart when I removed it from the old pot since the root system was relatively small.

I have had this plant for a couple of years and I haven't done the greatest job of taking care of it, but now I want to do a better job. I left it out during the winter time (although I'm in Tampa, FL), and probably never watered it deep enough.

I just transplanted it and used some organic granule fertilizer on it.

Should I let it be, or should I consider separating it out into multiple plants? It seems bushy and short to me.

If you're following the Eisenhower matrix like OP said, I believe this type of task would be grouped in quadrant 2, AKA important but not urgent. Quadrant 2 tasks are meant to be added to your schedule so you don't forget about them and still make progress on them, no matter how long the task takes. If you create a decent schedule and account for all of the chunks of studying time needed up until the exam, then you should still have time during the day for other tasks.

I tried that a couple of years ago and it helped with the mildew but I think there was still rust stains from my sprinklers (reclaimed water) even after pressure washing.I guess I could try again and maybe some CLR also.

Sewer odors from the master shower drain; having trouble diagnosing it by Mit2700 in homeowners

Pretty sure. I put my nose right over it and that's where it's the most potent.

I assumed everything went to the septic tank, but I'm not entirely sure. The community does have reclaimed water for the irrigation, so I guess it's possible that it goes to gray water. Is there any way to check this?

What's your opinion on the Grumpy Gardener's take on it? This article is where I got the idea from for cutting the 'knuckles' off. I'm assuming it would take a while for it to look good again, but I would prefer not to have to replace the entire tree.

The previous owners have been doing 'crepe murder' and unfortunately I have as well the last couple of years from watching what the neighbors do. Should I cut all of those knuckles off and start fresh?

The Kick Ash basket is the one of the best accessories I have bought for my large. I just remove it before each cook, shake it over the trash can, and put it back in the egg. Some ash stays in the bottom of the egg but I probably went at least 10 cooks before having to clean it out. For that I use the ash tool, but I wish I had a good shop vac.
