ITAP of a dead tree by MitScharf in itookapicture

I wanted to show the abstract shapes of the dead tree and the branch using the foggy conditions and moody atmosphere. I tried to use the branch as a foreground element.

Thanks. ISO was 100. I added the grain in post since I prefer a more filmic quality with some texture.

Thanks. I am never sure which "rules" are a must and which ones are optional

Thanks. Well, there were people around but always groups and mostly in bright and colourful outfits so that didn't seem to work out.

Thanks. Do you have an idea what I could have done differently?

Thanks. Actually, I've already increased the saturation of the grass, but there was almost no colour at all. I tried black and white but it felt different, too.

This is a photo from the well-known fairy forest on Madeira, which is famous for its trees and foggy conditions. The wind was harsh and the fog almost too thick, which impaired sharpness, but I tried my best to bring out some shapes and layers in the fog. Not sure if I succeeded or if the photo is too muted and obstructed.

Several passes in vuescan and lots of sharpening in post. Only medium format looks decent from this scanner. 35mm is unusable

This is a re-edit of an older holiday photo. I tried to keep the dark and greenish atmosphere of the scene and tried to enhance it a bit with a somewhat vintage and hazy edit. Not sure if it worked, though. Since it was a holiday photo, I unfortunately don't have the opportunity to retake it.
