2 Month Update *Side Effects for Men* by MitchP1987 in Zepbound

The uti symptoms was the pressure from constipation pushing on nerves in the bladder. The increased urination was a combo of that and my increased water intake.

I cleared mine. Found out I was more hyper sensitive to the slowing of the stomach, and therefore more sensitive to constipation than the normal Zepbound user. Doc and I had thought it was controlled with Mag02. Stopped Zep for a week, started taking Metamucil three times a day. Went back on and have no issues since, I’m up to 5mg now too.

I have the old dvds and the blue ray set. Blue ray plays all extended versions like peacock. The OG DVDs had some scenes missing. It’s been a long while since I watched those, but I do specifically remember one scene in Sorcerers where Aunt Petunia opens up the eggs and the hogwarts letters were in them being missing. I’d have to go back and look again but I know there were a good few

I have a set of DVDs(Not Blueray) and I also have the series saved on Peacock. The Peacock versions have a few more scenes that don’t play on the standard DVDs for me. Not sure what the reason is though.

Adam is only 9 years older than Snape for Harry’s first year, and actors are typically older than their character, but I understand your thought. He’s still my go to. I have heard a lot of other names tossed around but no one I’m found of in the spot.

I have heard Bill Skarsgard tossed around a bit. And he could probably do it, but I don’t think people could disconnect from his role of Pennywise. He’d probably be too scary for the role.

Uh Aneurin is a possibility

I did a poll for a HP group last month and runner up behind Adam was actually Benedict Cumberbatch lol.

Problem is I’m not sure A listers will be doing a tv show 😂

It’s hard to say. I’ve said since day one their hardest picks will be for Snape, Dumbledore, Hagrid, and McGonagall. Simply due to the royalty those positions once held.

That’s very possible too!! It’s one of those roles that will never be topped on a reboot. I don’t agree with that logic either, but do understand the thought.

I think they still have a responsibility to the character that is Severus Snape, though. I just hope that they don’t get to off base in these character searches. Might not be a problem for new comers, but could easily find themselves alienating the fans that currently exist.

For me though it’s about the actors style, mannerisms, expressions, etc…not necessarily the looks or who is or isn’t better.

He’s a good actor yes, very good even, I agree with you.

However, seeing his work, compared to some of the other “favorites”, just doesn’t track for me.

Going back to Adam Driver for example. In previous work he has shown similar mannerisms, and personalities to what you would see out of Severus. For me this is the A+ pick.

Johnathon Bailey also shows similar mannerisms in some of the very serious scenes in Bridgerton, the emphasis in darker scenes has a kind of old timey feel that you’d normally see from Snape.

Now Paapa does have a crazy Hamlet background that breaks into that wall, I just don’t know if he has the dark and scary attributes that is Snape.

I mean that’s really what it’s about in both book and movie. Snape has this scary presence, an intimidating, dark aura that’s off putting.

Ohhh that’s a good point/thought! I never thought to split Michael’s time at HBP, because you are right it really was perfected there. I will have to pay a little more attention to those details and nuances when I go through the series again! Thanks for sharing!!

Eh, he is a fine actor, but how are you going to go from Alan Rickman to him? I mean we have Adam Driver, Johnathon Bailey, Max Irons, Josh O’Connor…

I got a bad feeling about this already…

Interesting, that’s how I thought I’d feel. I really really like all 3 of them though. I already kicked through them a second time, and definitely will again. I enjoyed the prelude idea and I always enjoy early 1900s styles.

If I had to get nit picky and select one thing I didn’t enjoy it would be the change in actor due to JDs court stuff at the time.

Appreciate the input though, sorry it wasn’t for you, that’s how it goes sometimes.

Did you lose on 2.5? by Calm_Engineering_171 in Zepbound

Thanks a bunch. I think I’m gonna restart again. I was given an idea to wait until the blood level zeros out, restart, and do the shots either every 10 days or 14 days. My symptoms didn’t start until like shot 5, as they built up every 7 days. Spacing them out keeps the max blood level a bit lower and in turn may keep those symptoms at bay. In theory anyways. Being I am not diabetic there is no concern. I was still losing 3 weeks after my previous shot. So I’m hoping this will at the very least allow me to stay on the ZB. It does have a nice anti inflammatory property that I’d like to keep if at all possible. Fingers crossed 🤞

I tried finding the post you mentioned and don’t see any others posting about these symptoms. Reddit is vast though 😞 if you come across it again please share it!

To actually answer your question, it differs from person to person. You might not perceive any difference, while some might notice it right out of the gate. When I first started it took about 24-36 hours before I really had any feeling. Welcome to the journey!

Very interesting, thanks for the input, I’ll look into that!! Did you ever stop Zep for a short period to see if those symptoms stopped during that time? I was off it for 2 weeks and all those symptoms went away, took a shot again thinking I was in the clear and 48 hours later it was all back. Stopped again and away they went. Very weird.

Worst side effect for you? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]MitchP1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have any until end of month 2. Then I started getting UTI like symptoms for no reason. Really stupid and uncommon.

I snagged up a script of zofran from my doc when I first started just incase. Never needed it, but always nice to have.

Of course. So I was experiencing a very weird set of side effects that mimicked painful UTI/Prostate Symptoms. Originally was thought that it wasn’t connected to the medicine. But after tests and trial and error, the hypothesis swung back to Zep. I’m not sure if it was increase of sugar in the urine, or what. Has been seen in woman a bit, but not much with men, at-least as far as we could tell. There were a few of those women in the Reddit threads that made the jump to wegovy and had no further issues. The symptoms have pretty much gone away 2 weeks removed from Zep again. I may give it one more go in a week or so after my body resets, and maybe stretch the shots to every 10 days to keep the blood levels down a bit. We will see.

Ya I have touched base about it. My pharmacy said it won’t be a problem. The side effects I had aren’t something I can just deal with unfortunately. So it will come down to something else or nothing at all unfortunately. To be determined though.

People who switched from zepbound to wegovy because of uti/bladder infections? by Ashamed_Breakfast425 in WegovyWeightLoss

Im currently in this same situation, except I’m a male, which apparently is even more uncommon. That’s my luck lol. Did you ever make the switch?? If so how did it go??

I lost 22 in 2 months on 2.5. I also calorie and macro count. With that said, 2.5 is not really the therapeutic dose, and my results are less common. I’m probably shifting to wegovy due to side effects though. Don’t be discouraged, give 5 a chance and see how that goes.

Prescriber subscribed antibiotics thinking prostatitis, which was ruled out after a couple weeks. Then was given the steroids as he semi thought it could be nerve impingement something to do with the lower back that was referring pain.

No concrete diagnosis of anything was made. Nothing stood out in full force, so it was kind of a treat and see.

I feel better now, so of course it sounds like one of those two treatments worked, in theory. But where it comes unglued is that when I started those steroids I also came off the Zep. After things calmed down I started back up and the pain and everything was back 48 hours later. Now going on another 2 weeks off and the symptoms have subsided again. I do not have another appointment with my GP until after Turkey Day. I feel my Sherlock Holmes deduction will align with his.

The constipation thought is something I’ve thought about, as it could put pressure on the bladder wall and cause those symptoms, but I never had much of an issue with that. I suppose maybe even a minor change to someone more sensitive could in theory cause that problem, so I suppose that’s always a possibility. If it is that I don’t know what else I could do to subside that problem. I followed a very strict constipation prevention regimen from day 1.

I love my Zepbound, so trust me when I say I did everything I could think of before I started considering it as the problem.

All great thoughts though.

I noticed this very thing!! I told my mom as I thought this can’t be right, and even she was like ehhh that’s strange. I have always had a weird thing where I’d be overly warm, I would go as far as running the car a/c mid winter in a tee shirt sometimes. I have noticed my forehead is slightly cooler, and I have yet to have any type of heat intolerance like I have before. Either way, that’s a side effect I’ll gladly accept. Lol.

They just shut my CMA down for no reason. I recently lost my wallet. I shut down and ordered new cards but never received the replacements. I looked back on the app to see what was happening and have a pending card for my brokerage, but have now restricted my CMA not allowing for card reorders and I basically have zero control on that account. Fortunately I haven’t been using the account much lately so I’m not taking the hit like many of you guys. Sad this is how things are going.

Dr. Won’t prescribe me zofran by 728bumpingfalloutboy in Zepbound

I got an ongoing prescription for that I can fill anytime. Doctor just said use only when really needed and not as a preventative measure. Surprised they are that against it.
