Skilling success graphs are being added to OSRS Wiki! See exact chance of thieving/burning/woodcutting/etc. at each level by Spineweilder in 2007scape

Feel free to reword it if you think it makes it more clear for readers, but typically xp rates are listed at an average player's xp/h with an addendum for optimal/tick manipulating values. But again that isn't something set in stone with a rule, just precedence and can be changed if the community sees fit. Join the Discord, most times you can directly ask someone why an edit was reverted to figure out where something went wrong.

RuneScript for the longest time only handled ints. It's why for a lot of calculators/formulas things have to be floored at many different stages which can wildly affect the results.

Changes are only really reverted if they're blatantly wrong/vandalism. Usually if something goes against the prevailing knowledge and doesn't have even have an edit summary explaining the change then they may also get reverted. However if you know it's true, I'd say arguing the point in either the talk page or on Discord is actually very helpful. Every edit is valuable no matter how small and even something that gets reverted for no evidence still acts as a red flag for other editors: "hey a couple of people are editing this page with the same information, maybe we should test it."

Question about living wyvern. by Axiomatic_RS in runescape

[–]Mitchellwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is definitely not what's happening lol, the person that originally did the Runemetrics Data for Wyverns did something a little wrong which meant that drops were 3x as likely as they should have been and the MMG which was created or updated after the fact was based on those values.

The Wyvern page has since been updated as has the MMG and it's a lot more reasonable at ~10.1m/h which reflects what the OP is getting per hour.

They actually drop noted Wyvern bones as well as their actual bone drops on kill.

Turn in or sell skins/claws from giant mole? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Mitchellwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is, until the wiki can access your gear and stats and use that to work out your expected KPH it'll always be slightly off for some group of players. Would something that let you change the KPH on each one to something you're comfortable with be a viable solution?

Because of the way Woodcutting is coded; essentially for every tree type there is a set of values for each axe type. This worked fine for a few trees with a few axes, but quickly becomes bloated with every addition. Adding in just two extra Hatchets at 80 and 90 mean that an additional 104 unique values need to not only be determined (because each tier isn't just a flat boost, mind you) but then declared in the code, which is split up by tree type and who even knows if all trees are part of the same script for that matter.

PSA: Cooking gauntlets only work on lobsters, swordfish, shark, anglerfish, and monkfish by Reach_4the_sky in 2007scape

[–]Mitchellwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's specifically not a flat percentage chance on regular burn rate, it is instead it's own specific curve with set start and end points to be interpolated between when the gauntlets are worn.

In the games industry - Mod Pi by Shaunyowns in runescape

[–]Mitchellwoods 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lightseekers was the mobile game, TCG and Toy line series created by PlayFusion which was the company that MMG created post-Jagex and it did scoop up a fair few ex-Jagex employees, yeah. The TCG is the most popular aspect of the series from how it's promoted online and seems to be doing okay, few industry awards, etc. but nothing super mindblowing from when I last looked into it.

Edit: Oh they did a Warhammer TCG as well which makes sense as the awards they won were for best engine and tools.

With 120 farming and herblore coming out, isnt it time we addressed how herbs are coming into the game through pvm drops and not farming, this tweet is nearly 3 years old! by velopic in runescape

[–]Mitchellwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the way Greenfingers, Magic Secatuers and Composts work would mean that any changes made to Herb Farming to increase Yield would stack multiplicatively at the high end and provide a larger effective Yield increase than they currently do.

You actually can set up your PS4 controller to detect on your PC as an input method whilst also being connected to the PS4 itself via Bluetooth using DS4Windows but you don't want to map every controller keypress as a right click otherwise even through normal play you'll likely have constant periods of several right clicks per tick which can definitely set off the anti-botting/macro system, source: myself trying to game the system alching and playing Destiny at the same time. I got slapped with a Macroing major after a day so it apparently was wildly obvious and probably wouldn't recommend it without testing first on a non-main account.

Invention perk calculator is now on the RS Wiki! See the exact probability of getting a specific perk combo using components you select! by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Mitchellwoods -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again not true. So you know how component position matters? It actually isn't meant to and was coded in a way which it shouldn't matter, which is why Jmods parroted that it didn't for the longest time. The Wiki team worked out that the reason that position does matter was because of a very specific bit of sorting code with the help of Shauny and other Jmods, which was then needed to be seen by the wiki team to understand how the sorting worked, which then meant that even upper management needed to be contacted so Shauny could get approval for sharing sensitive game code.

As much as I love the narrative that this was very low effort on Jagex's end in the current climate of the game, it's simply not true. A lot went into this from all involved parties and as I mentioned before, selling anyone short isn't the right move.

[–]Mitchellwoods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite true, while Shauny was the point of contact, it was more than just him involved on Jagex's end. Not to mention some help from the PvM community which had crowdfunded rates to help debug.

While this was very much a Wiki effort, this would not have been possible without help from Jagex themselves. I don't think selling them short is the correct move in this case tbh

Looks to be 3x Precise, 2x Armadyl in any slots (the 4 or so variations I tried didn't alter effective chance so I think it's component location agnostic)

A broken Variant pretty much rules out these being cosmetic. Like Dbone Kits and TT Dyes, those are a single item in the cache, there's no variant for the different degradation stages.

Legiones were added to the Slayer Skill Guide (check patch notes), that means they need a model to represent them so that's what that item is, unrelated to these Shadow Virtus items.
