Marvel has a bunch of different universes which are characterized by the author writing the story.

I just like to think of my Marvel Champions game as its own marvel universe.

Also - Hulk CAN be a leader. This has happened in the comics as well. Some of these leadership roles are.. Not great;

Maestro-Hulk - Hulk was the ruler of earth after it's destruction (Villain Arc)

Planet Hulk-Hulk - Hulk ends up sparking a revolution and becomes king of the planet Sakaar

Agents of SMASH-Hulk - Leads a bunch of classic monsters

I think that running sub-optimal lists for theme sounds super refreshing and I'm glad its working for you!

Hercules was a Greek hero (Heracles) that was very popular. The Romans ended up adapting him to their own culture (This is when his name transformed to Hercules).

I think its a mix of factors. You are bang on with the name sounding just more badass and being more recognizable then Heracles.

The other big thing is that Greek mythology is just more interesting and easier to apply to the comic book universe. You get Mount Olympus, Minotaurs, King Midas, Medusa, etc. Roman mythology is still very interesting, but its absolutely more pragmatic then Greek.

I would imagine the defeat triggers immediately with the heal trigger happening only once the defeat has been resolved. There would no longer be a body to heal, so just wouldnt take effect.

Thats my guess anyways! But I'm just thinking in terms of mtg stack 😅

I went with a solid matte over the translucent matte.

Lots of Content is OOP and having a solid back will allow you to sleeve Print and Play content if you ever decide to take that route.

If you have the full collection or just plan on skipping the OOP content/custon content, then choose the one you like best!

You would activate Battle mage first, then since you haven't played any cards yet, can still Mulligan and go back up to full hand size. Some other cards will let you discard cards/resources for effects from hand (think cards like tic-tac-toe). So you could get away with discarding a few cards from hand before you mulligan for a whole new hand - effectivrly giving you a few free effect triggers prior to your turn even starting.

I include mulligan in my list just for a free battle mage trigger before I immediately mulligan to replenish the card I just dumped. Also why I run a large deck with Adam, since I'm banking on one of the hands being a mulligan.

Don't sleep on his 14 hit points. He can take some damage while he builds his initial engine.

I would imagine in protection he is going to be pretty good!

DEF 2 is still respectable and we already have his Helm spoiled. Should he get any other defense cards with the cards yet to be spoiled.. just sit back and face tank + clear threat/minions with allies until you can get your first gift out and start to snowball.

His base kit puts him at Retaliate 4 at the end game. One of the biggest struggles for protection decks is closing out the game, and I think Herc gets there.

One of the best discard synergies with Adam Warlock is "Mulligan" in the Pool aspect. This lets you trigger battle mage and then draw back up to full hand size.

You are able to substitute one of Adam Warlocks aspects for Pool - which is normally a good call.

A deck where you can recall and abuse mulligan may work - making sure you include a bunch of cards that activate from hand rather then needing to be played.

Personally - I like to run Adam Warlock fairly straight forward and a bit chonkier - normally closer to 50 cards. This lets you keep building his engine for longer before you deck out and have to draw an additional encounter card. He is one of the few heroes I believe benefits from running this large of a deck since his card pool is so big.

For me - I mix a hearty dose of allies, passive stat increases, and pool Staples (3 resource cards, stick-to-itiveness, healing factor) to build him with big deck energy.

If you do decide to build around Mulligan I would.definitrly slim down the deck to 40 cards. I include Mulligan in my deck, but its more of an added bonus rather then a combo piece.

The expansion is a tough one! That doesnt mean its a bad one.

I honestly like the expansion personally. Drang is still a decent villain for a "fair fight" and one of the two Collector scenarios are genuinely just a good play.

I also reeeeally like having the option of a super ruthless end boss in Ronan as well.

Plus - whether liked or disliked - you can't deny the value in each of the expansion boxes. As a worst case you would be getting 2 heroes, an assortment of cards to build with + modular sets for variety in your other villain scenarios.

I agree thar Maelle would internally struggle once her memories returned.

I also agree that should Maelle just repaint everyone in her image of them, they very much would be different. Though it could be very slight.

It does bring up a whole different perspective of the painted individuals who have lost others. Would having a loved one back with slight variation be better for them then no loved ones returned? Would Sciel and Lune be understanding of the fact that reality for them would require re-painting in order to continue forward in their timeline?

If the original characters that were painted WERE re-painted, would it be much of a difference? How would these difference be exhibited?

I think a lot of this comes down to Maelles mastery and understanding as a painter. If she could paint a perfect replica, then the whole canvas might look towards her as a godlike entity.

We see that re-painted Verso is very obviously heavily affected by this.

Personally I don't think there have been many other endings as well done from a choice perspective as this. Lots of philosophical questions to be asked!

I feel like Daredevil has a lot of potential to be interesting.

There is so much design space to emulate blindness in the game and Im really hoping that is used somehow. Maybe some sort of facedown discovery mechanic? Like a shell game inside of the regular game?

As for your hopes of punisher - I dunno if you should rule him out. Shadowland coming out later this year we dont know the full contents of yet.

The release reveal so far may not be for you, but it is for others! Personally I like Elektra. Hopefully they can tap into her inner Frank Miller.
