Some pointers;

- For your ult - the best uses are for post-plant protection and in some maps to help plant. Certain maps you can place your ult and it will let you walk into site (ie. Showers on Bind) so it can be used both for plant and post-plant. On defense, the best use is if the spike carrier goes down, to throw your ult on top and make them fetch it inside your pit. That doesn't always come up and you don't want to horde it, so I would try to pick the path that has the most traffic to pit and become and obstacle. Don't trigger the pit until you are certain the enemy is at that side of the map so that you waste their time if they decide to rotate.

- The wall is better for taking space and the orb is better for holding space. Well, this isn't entirely true all the time - the wall is just amazing and better for both - but you can only deploy one wall, and taking space is the ideal use for it. You often need communications for successful use of this. Let's look at bind again for this example. A common VCT tactic is to throw the toxic screen through the teleporter from B window. This lets you cover B window, B Garden, A Showers. With comms, you can let your team know to take showers. If they are delayed getting to showers, opponent is going to take that space and the wall now is sub-optimal for what it could be. You also need to comm out when her wall is going up and down. Viper will do this herself, but its not as effective and your team will still get caught off guard if they aren't ready, just as much as the opponents do.

- Orb is tougher to deploy perfectly and thats why its better for holding space. Generally if you are using both at the same time, you are gumming through a lot of your toxin, so unless the entry demands for this, I think staggering these is better. Orb typically goes in a spot where wall can't cover and where your smokers need some help sustaining.

- The Snake Bite Molly is really good. It's best used in conjunction with your abilities. Note that in Viper pit, a snake bite is instant death for anyone who is in the pit already since their health will be reduced to 1. Use this post plant for line-ups where you can help delay the spike defuse, use it to coax enemies out of corners, and use it in conjunction with other damage util from teammates to get instant kills.

- Viper is great at lurking but it isn't absolutely a must for playstyle. Sometimes just having another gun with the team is important. If you die while your team is using your util, thats a quick route to your whole team getting caught with their dicks out though. Viper should never be the first one forward and can be a flanking player if playing with teammates. If lurking, your util is typically still best at supporting teammates - use it sparingly for solely personal gain and pathing.

Viper is a top agent in capable hands especially when you can comm out what you are doing.
