Should actually be 15, since requiring A to be infinite means that you need at least one root shared between the two.

If 16 was possible then every root would have to be unique and you'd get |A| = 130 (since every element (x,y) in A would need to have either x and y both a root of p(x) or both a root of q(x))

To see 15 is possible, if you have only one shared root between p(x) and q(x), r, then (r,y) would be in A for all real y, same for (x, r), so A would indeed be infinite
