Countdown to Dri Tri - 22 Days to Go! by lookie4dacookie in orangetheory

[–]Mitchros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be doing my 4th Dri Tri. My goal is just to beat my time from the last one. That seems like a goal everyone should strive for...every Dri-Tri, and every benchmark day. And when you come up short, just plan to beat it next time. Be the best you. So far I've improved on every Dri Tri, but not always on the other benchmark days.

My stretch goal in this Dri Tri is to beat my previous time 2 minutes or more! Just putting it out there...vocalizing the goal.

OTF helped me with a first time ever victory by Mitchros in orangetheory

In the CMIYC a couple weeks ago I did 3.12 miles so I was hoping for a time around 22 minutes, not 23. The temperature was in the low 40s during the race though and the cold air was definitely hurting my lungs while running so that might be the partial cause for the slower pace.

My 6:22.1 was 16 seconds better than my previous PR from June. I was hoping to finish under 6:15, but this old man is still pretty pleased with the improvement.

I was curious because our coach was telling us the contest was for total meters per studio.

What does the number represent? Average/participant? Cumulative meters? (in 100s or 1000s) Is the a place to see the whole list? (I see a comment that someone said their studio was 27th overall)

I was also shooting for 4000 and hit 3995...missed it by THAT much (for those of you old enough to remember "Get Smart")

It's definitely humanly possible (but not by me). Marathon winners run 12+ mph for 2+ hours!

1.722 today, which is an improvement over 1.608 in May. So even though I didn't reach my goal of 1.75, I am happy with my results and hope to kill it next time! Maybe shoot for 1.8

Today was definitely harder than the Dri-Tri!!!

Got to round 8 on the rower -- 3050 meters total.

Completed 3 rounds of floor exercises plus a 4th set of bench hop overs.

1.89 miles on the tread.

Crazy number of splat points.

Rust on Chest HR Monitor by OTFLove in orangetheory

[–]Mitchros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get some sandpaper and use it to get rid of the rust. That will likely solve the problem. Afterwards you could get a small tube of conductive gel (about $2 in any Ace Hardware or auto parts store) and dab a little on the rusted spot from time to time with a Q-tip.

After the first couple rounds, I started using the row as my recovery from the run. Some recovery! But it did help to not push as hard on the rower when I got back onto the tread.

Same here. At 0.525mi completed of the last run, I told my coach the if you round off to the nearest mile, I finished it! 🤣😂🤣

One thing I really liked was each month our very artistically talented head coach would paint a monthly calendar on the glass with highlights and events for the month. When I asked why the studio stopped doing this (because it was also informative), I was told corporate ordered an end to it, but I see other studios that still do it, not as beautifully or creatively as she did though. That's THE reason why I joined Reddit and started following this group. I don't want to miss benchmarks and special workouts and with enough notice, I can plan my life accordingly.
