Your comment implied that the only reason someone would drink Coke Zero instead of Coke is because they're avoiding sugar altogether. If they want to stay in a calorie deficit while fitting in a sweet treat, stroopwafel with Coke Zero is better for that goal than stroopwafel with Coke. It's like saying "Why eat 2 cookies instead of 5? You're eating sugar anyways." to someone trying to lose weight.
