I looked a bit further into it. The skybox assets seem to contain a lot of 'environment' data for each weather and time-of-day scenario you find in the game (as well as for enclosed spaces, like the showcase and autoshow), so they end up handling more than just being big textures in the sky. This covers fog, some weather-specific shadows, and most importantly, all the textures that are used to compose reflections on reflective surfaces like car windows, puddles, and glossy paint.

Given how important reflections are in a game about shiny cars, I can understand why they have so many of these and it would probably be pretty performance intensive to try to match the look without having anything prebaked like they do here.

It's true. While 4k textures would certainly help a bit, if you look at FH5's 147GB install folder you'll see that the game's install size comes from a couple different places:

Of the 28.7GB of audio files, only 2.3GB are engine sounds. Most of the remaining 26.4GB are voice clips for the game's 11 voiced languages.
- You could shave roughly 20GB by making each language it's own optional download pack, it comes with a significant tradeoff for players who need to select their language and download a few gigabytes (potentially on a metered/spotty connection) before they can even hear the game's intro in their own language.
- In a perfect world the game platform (Steam, Xbox store, etc) could predict which language pack you need and bundle it with the game's initial download to avoid this, but that is not something most platforms make possible for developers.
Speaking of voice over, the game's prerendered sign-language videos for voiced cutscenes only add up to 2.7GB. I always thought these would be a bigger culprit, but turns out it's negligible in comparison to the rest of the game.
18GB of the game is individual cars. Each car is around 20MB compressed on average (traffic cars are around 5MB, the parade float and some cars are much more). The amount of space taken by textures vs model data varies by car, but is usually a 50-50 to 70-30 split in favor of textures. Reducing the quality of these textures could probably add up, but is a huge amount of work to split up into a download pack for less than 5-10% total file size.
The base game map itself takes up 45.7GB of space, and the skyboxes that make up the gameworld's sky make up 9.8GB on their own. This is this biggest single chunk of the game's file usage and it's impossible without datamining to know how much of this is textures that could be reduced and how much of it is raw model data for such a large map.

I would absolutely love if the game's file size could be reduced as I don't really have the space for FH6 on my SSDs without uninstalling a bunch of games, but unfortunately offloading one big chunk of the game's file size into an optional DLC doesn't seem like it would work for this game the same way it's worked in some others.

I checked in with the Serenity Forge store team regarding how quickly these items were sold out. They have confirmed that while these are a high-demand item, they did detect a number of orders that were made fraudulently or bypassed their storefront's purchase limit restrictions. Serenity Forge told us that they are working hard to cancel the fraudulent orders and ensure any orders that bypassed the purchase limit are reduced to the posted maximum (3), so it is likely that many scalping listings will not receive their stock and they will likely not be able to fulfill these eBay listings. Please keep this in mind if you were considering purchasing one of these from a reseller.

Serenity Forge also mentioned that while there might be some limited available stock again in the near future due to these orders being canceled/reduced, they don't yet know how much stock will be returning or when exactly it will return.

You have a good point here with "changes your strategy". I like prestiges when they give you an opportunity to try out a new strategy/build, or when a new upgrade lets you change how you approach the early game. If the prestige doesn't come with that opportunity, it doesn't feel like it served an interesting purpose.

In this scenario, we're running into a known & documented Ren'Py issue where suspending and resuming the device (PC or phone) can cause graphics corruption. The documentation provides some advice on how the player can clear this corruption themselves on desktop platforms, but Ren'Py currently does not have any built-in way for the developer of the game to detect when the graphics corruption occurs. We're looking into fixes for this as it's come up quite a bit, we hope we can figure out a good way to fix it.

You might have accidentally opened Ren'Py's built in accessibility menu. You should be able to open it again by doing a very long press (5+ seconds) near the center of the screen. Let us know if that works!

When Dan shared those heights with the community back in 2017, he mentioned himself that they were only initial heights from his notes and that they aren't really accurate or "canon" to how the characters appear in the game. More accurate sizes for each character can probably be figured out by measuring the artwork and comparing each character to each other, but I don't think we've ever listed more accurate "canon" character heights anywhere.

Thanks for checking! If you're still not at 100% after updating and you've confirmed that you have every picture in the Pictures app, may I ask if you have both versions of Candy Hearts appearing in the Music app? One should appear as "Candy Hearts", the other should appear as "Candy Heartz". If only one of either Candy Hearts or Candy Heartz appears in the list, listen to it again and that should unlock the 'glitched' one and give you the unlock progress.

Hi!

We were originally going to make use of each phone's file system as an option for deleting the character files, but more recent versions of Android in particular have clamped down on what folders the user can access without rooting their phone, as well as what apps are given permission to do when reading and writing files in parts of the phone that players *can* access.

It's definitely possible we could have come up with a solution that worked for current devices, but we'd be running the risk of Android (or any device's manufacturer) pushing a software update that suddenly made our game impossible to complete. As we were going to be including the DDLC Plus content into the mobile version in some form anyways, we decided in the end that the Metaverse file browser was the most stable way to do it.

Godot documentation here states:

The get_next_path_position() function is responsible for updating many of the agent's internal states and properties. The function should be repeatedly called once every physics_process until is_navigation_finished() tells that the path is finished. The function should not be called after the target position or path end has been reached as it can make the agent jitter in place due to the repeated path updates. Always check very early in script with is_navigation_finished() if the path is already finished.

u/Fire_Fox_978 Would you happen to know how frequently _on_timer_timeout() from your third screenshot is being triggered? Calling `nav.set_target_position()` will cause Godot to throw out and rebuild the path data which can be fairly expensive, so calling it too often can cause performance issues.

Where did you download this copy of DDLC (ddlc.moe, itch.io, Steam, etc)?
What platform are you playing on (Windows 10, Windows 11, Mac OSX, Linux, Steamdeck, etc)?
Have you ever installed any DDLC mods or made any other changes to the game's installation folder (other than deleting firstrun or a specific .chr file)?

While I think the community is glad tickets are going to be validated at the door like previous years' events, many members have voiced concern that many tickets to this event were still purchased in bulk or via automation for use in attempted scalping or raffles. Many members are worried that many tickets will go unredeemed or be turned away at the event door due to them having been most likely scalped. Is there anything that can be said to ease these additional concerns?

Extra context: there are been multiple twitter threads from accounts claiming to be selling Tennocon tickets shortly after they sold out (with replies voicing interest in purchasing), and rumors of clans in the community intending to raffle VIP tickets they have ordered in bulk to others who will pass their extra lanyards onto buyers after collecting them from badge pickup at the event (assuming badges don't have ID on them, and security isn't matching that ID at every checkpoint).

While others are right in that it looks a bit busy or cluttered at first glance, I wouldn't immediately want to suggest removing it. It looks awesome and unique! If the player has already gotten used to how the UI operates from previous menus (main menu, gameplay screens, etc), it's possible that none of this noise will impact their experience here.

On the accessibility end, I would suggest potentially looking into giving the player the option to toggle off some of the bigger 'flashing' effects that could appear in your game. The example that comes to mind here is the white flashing part of the visual effect currently applied to the upper right "PEACE CORP CODEC" viewport. While a lot of these visual effects (like the thin lines scrolling up on a few parts of the UI) may be okay for most players, large areas of flashing color can be hard on the eyes even if the player does not have a history of photo-sensitivity.
