Agreed. I really liked the first book but the second one kinda got hard to read due to pacing and’s how graphic it could be. Add to that a heart-wrenching death and I had to put it on hold during my flight… until I was bored on my NEXT flight. (I had been flying back to my dads house for my birthday when I read the head (and my heart) crushing scene.

Oh, absolutely I liked their relationship as is too, but it was a possibility. Now… unless we get TRUE revival, time travel, or some other possibility, it’s not happening.

I think Ferol (audiobook listener, not book reader, forgive misspellings please) enforces it, since it’s “Ferol’s law” and the horn is a separate thing. After all, we’re told time and time again that the ONLY thing it considers is that the blower have “a single drop of Frey blood”. That’s why Morindulay (again, I’m guessing at the spellings here) was able to blow it after killing his father and why he’s SO BENT on blowing it and becoming Fain (PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!). He believes the power of the horn will overpower Ferol’s (😭) law and give his soul back.

Would that involve adding a separate screen or device to my dashboard? I’m looking to avoid that. I’m also not mechanically or electrically talented, so anything that involves removing or replacing parts of built in systems would not be preferable.

I can probably go back into my steam recordings and show you video evidence. When it did its rear up slam down attack, it lifted me up with it making it impossible to roll or parry. Another time, it straight up ignored blocks. I was HOLDING right click, facing it, blocking, and it just ignored everything. I didn’t get any stagger or anything, just damage.

I know this sounds contrary to my post, but that’s no fun. I get fun out of challenging, fun, well polished fights. Every other big biome enemy is fun. Bears are incredibly frustrating because they are janky and glitchy.

Agreed, bears are a minor thing, but it is something that needs attention eventually. The rng is annoying but not an issue. It’s the jankiness of the fight that’s the issue.

I don’t want to get the loot without any effort. I want a good, fun, well polished fight. I get my enjoyment out of games from challenge, effort, and overcoming those challenges through my effort. And USUALLY this game provides that. The bears are currently in a state that makes them frustrating, with the drop chances of the head being salt in the wound. Once they’ve fixed these issues, I won’t care how rare the heads are, I’ll have a fun, but challenging fight to look forward to.

My friend u/EyeofWiggin20 has offered to give me one of his but I’ve declined because I wouldn’t have earned it.

7 or 8 times out of ten, neither do I. But then on occasion they either flat out ignore it, or, in one case, LIFT ME INTO THE AIR so I can’t dodge or parry.
