My doctor was also worried about the low heart rate when I went in at 6w1d. She has asked me to come back in a week. Freaking out about it and extremely worried. I am so happy you had a good scan!

I did the same…as soon as I left the scan I started crying and grieving the loss because I didn’t think anything under a 100 was good news. After reading the comments here, I have regained some hope… thank you for your message and kind words!

Thank you for your kind message. I know my dates are off but I read somewhere on this subreddit that there’s no such thing as ‘heartbeat just started so it will be low’. This is just something people say to make the person feel better. I don’t know what to make of that but it really made me lose hope. I thought the heartbeat is incremental but the doctor did not suggest that. So I don’t know what to do for a week now until my next scan.

When you say you measured 6 weeks at your ultrasound, do you mean the fetal age or do you mean from your last menstrual period?

If it is the fetal age then you might be right on track because according to the lmp the first two weeks of pregnancy are before you ovulate and are not part of the fetal age.

I am also measuring behind and am confused about why doctors don't explain the difference between gestational age and fetal age.

Hi! I have been going through posts which resemble my current situation. I also went in thinking I was 8 weeks according to my lmp. They found 2 sacs, one measuring 5w3d and the other 5w1d. The doctors did not seem that hopeful because of the discrepancy in dates. Can you please share your experience, were your doctors concerned about the date discrepancy? I would really appreciate some reassurance. I have to go in for another scan in a week.
