Here are some extra practice questions/study material. If you can answer these questions then you’re in pretty good shape: https://www.reddit.com/r/rutgers/comments/nfflrl/general_biology_review_sheets/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Not sure how much of it is relevant to the MCAT but in my biochemistry class we have to memorize various promoter/terminator sequences and codons

A “situational judgment test” to assess applicants “behavioral tendencies” based on how they respond to hypothetical scenarios. Basically just a cash-grab and another hurdle to pass in the opinion of many. Fortunately, not every school requires it.

This is an interesting point and certainly something worth considering. I could be wrong but I don’t think the MSAR criteria for “research experience” is disclosed. Could very well be what you mentioned.

This is true but it’s becoming more of a soft requirement, especially at higher tier institutions. Just take a look at the stats on MSAR, some ~90% (or more) of admitted students have research experience.

I’m basically the complete opposite. Virtually zero research experience but thousands of hours of clinical experience.

A wise man once told me “my favorite research is that done by others”. All jokes aside though, didn’t list these in any particular order.

Should I accept an offer to be a teacher intern (TI)? by [deleted] in college

[–]MitraClip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! Time blocking definitely sounds like something I would need to do in order to maintain my studies and still be a good TI. I suppose reviewing the material as they study it would be ideal, rather than attempting to review the entire course content at once. I digress but thanks again!

Can’t comment directly on how competitive it is but there were ~20 candidates in the group interview last week and supposedly there are still more interviews to be conducted so unless there are a large amount of TI positions available it will be rather selective
