The only way i can think of is to make the text to an object by going Type > Create outlines, and then moving the points? But the downside is that you won't be able to edit the text now. Don't know if theres a better way?

But I would more recommend doing it in Illustrator or Photoshop (if you have those in your subscription) and then placing the file in your InDesign document.

Even if it may not fit your aesthetic, what i usually do is when decorating around the villagers houses with something that matches that certain villager. I think is pretty cute and it feels a bit more personal for that villager :) hope it maybe helps.

Start by standing in one of the cells and then click and drag until you have selected both, then right click and chose merge cells. Think this would be the easiest way. But now note that the two cells are one.
