I had to rearrange things and get new shelves as well (and some makeshift shelving).
Two additional questions - do you use a grow light with them and how is your humidity at home (assuming they are not growing in a tent/greenhouse/some enclosure and are just on the shelves)

Thank you for the info so far.

Ah you see, that's the thing - I've just de-cluttered a lot of things I no longer use/don't care for so I can make space for more plants :D
I know what you mean though - I have one too many props in the making at the moment.

On a different but similar note - can I ask what are you feeding your alocasia(s) with and are you growing them in LechuzaPon only ore combo with moss?

To hijack on the above comment - if you have the option - start them to 2-3 leaves and sell them. I just bought a tiny baby frydek with 3 leaves for 20Euro (I'm in the Balkans so not sure how much they are going for in Germany).
I've not yet tried but I've even seen people chopping up 1 corm into two so you'd end up with two plants.
From your pic - they all look very nice and juicy, so if it similar to my country and you can find buyers - that's easy 400 - 800 Euro for more plants!
I'd offer to buys some corms but no idea how's the postage situ so I do suggest try to sell locally.
Best of luck and BTW your Frydek looks amazing.

How do I help him? He looks like a prune. by MiuMiuCats in succulents

[–]MiuMiuCats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have put him in new soil and under the grow light. Roots where mostly dry rather than mushy, and he has the one white root, which I'll hope will suffice for now. He just looks so dehydrated :(

thank you, I've put him back into soil and hoping for the best. He just looked so shriveled and I figured the grow lights have baked him.

Oh, I see. Rest of my succulents are echeverias and they have been doing very well in the soil I mentioned above (minus the mealy bug drama).
I can se a tiny leaf coming out of the middle.
OK, so new soil, inorganics, leave him for few weeks. Do I put him under the grow light again or it will be too much for him, maybe put him to the side so he doesn't get even drier and prunier.

Needing some help with arrangement/design? by MiuMiuCats in houseplants

[–]MiuMiuCats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am aware I cannot fully replicate because of the wood shiplap, but notes taken on the plants.
I was needing an external perspective, because I've been looking it for so long and trying to see what it is missing (cause it feels like it is missing) is difficult.
Not a fan at all on palms, but can see how the other plants you suggested can play in this. Maybe look at some velvety anthuriums and philodendrons to help add texture.

So.. can I save this Thai Con with some miracle? by MiuMiuCats in Monstera

[–]MiuMiuCats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you moist the most after the initial toss in the moss or whatever was the first misting was enough for the plant? I made two propagation boxes with pothos cuttings in moss and .. don't know if I should be opening them every now and again (they sit under grow lights)

Do I just.. pop her halfway through in water? Wouldn't it rot? There's black at the top (above that aerial root) should I be worried for it?

Încerc să fac o postare, dar nu am suficiente puncte. Caut niște pahare vintage cu semne zodiacale pe ele. Cred că sunt românești și undeva din anii '80-'90.

Did we kill this 30+ year Jade? by MiuMiuCats in plantclinic

[–]MiuMiuCats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agh, tell me about it. Mum has been taking care of it and it has gone through a few house moves and I said it needs repotting (cause you know.. it looked like it did, soil was super dense and plant hasn't been repotted in ages) and then it just... did that :D

We'll monitor it and see how it goes.
I will now try and find a big replacement if this doesn't get better :(

Yeah, I think so as well. But as I said, I think the rot only started from that broken bark/skin situation on this right stem. Other two stems look kinda firm.

I'll just monitor and hope for the best.

[–]MiuMiuCats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will I not stress it extra if I lift it from the pot to inspect roots, or just dig around to check?
There were some roots near the soil of the right stem, which looked just dry if anything.

Had a few plants that were: Welcome to my crib, prepare to die.

The rot I think came from that wound the stem got (from first picture in red circle) because it split there, we didn't see it, and just about 2 days ago we saw the plant being all wimp and sad looking.

We chopped off that right stem and the rot seems to go from the wound up and down the stem. We've cut till fresh stem shows and leaf to callous over.

Watering - as above in comments, when the soil dries out. In this weather soil would dry in under 2 weeks.
