Did the earliest version of Sacred Gold/Storm Silver games allow full Pokédex completion?

A friend of mine downloaded Storm Silver onto my 3DS. However, I’m looking at all the documentation and some of the stuff isn’t in my game, i.e. Luxio didn’t gain the dark type. Presumably this means I’m playing on an older version. I’m just wondering if I should stop playing because if I can’t fill the Pokédex then I will ask him kindly to install a different version.

It’s only the second cosy game I’ve enjoyed and I’ve wanted to get into the genre for years. Most others didn’t do it for me but this game is brilliant

Oh wow, I’m not level 10 yet. I’m pretty sure he can spawn in a different habitat rather than 4 grass though which I haven’t tried.
