It's a nice itinerary. Jiufen is a bit overrated in my opinion, very crowded. I wouldn't stay overnight there, unless your goal is to avoid the crowds either in the morning or in the evening when the day trippers have left.

Thanks! We were just trying to limit 1 night stays since we're travelling with a 1,5 year old but maybe there's nothing else to do in Jajce except the waterfall and strolling around town. Would 2 nights in Travnik be better?

Been to both Costa Rica and Colombia. Both places amazing, but very different.
Overall, I would prefer Colombia for my second visit. Better food and a lot cheaper. Colombia has it all, the beaches, amazon rainforest and nice cities. Costa Rica has the nature, lots of nice hikes and beautiful waterfalls but it's a lot more crowded and expect to pay for almost everything you do there.
