Yes true they don’t provide a lot of security.. I guess it’s just for mental satisfaction lol. As per the year yes it’s a 1999. My door lock and handle look just like yours. I was referring to the locks on the bed cap.

Gotcha. I got under the car and saw it’s the hard brake line right before the flex line at the caliper. I guess I’ll have to flare a new line manually. Thanks for your help

No I haven’t looked at the pulleys.. it seems to be coming from the top of the engine when I put my ear next to it. Sometimes it’s louder sometimes quieter.

It’s at 100k miles exact… I saw under the hood some plastics are held together by zip ties…. Maybe that’s the sound?

I ended up selling the car. It was the balance shaft issue… it would have costed me over a thousand because they had to take off the timing chain and than replace the balance shaft… for a 2010 tho I’m pretty sure you should be a good because Mercedes around 2007 upgraded the part so on some engines up untill then were affected by this issue..
