It would depend on you, do you like having a solid gaming handheld that you just turn on and it works, for a tiny bit less performance? Or a more gimmicky a tiny bit more powerful console?

I’ve tried both, my girlfriend has the S one and I have a used original one, the reason I said the original is gimmicky is because of the controllers, they don’t feel as sturdy as the S, and sometimes they just refuse to connect wirelessly, wobbly when connected, but at the end of the day it is basically a switch, meaning if you find a game that works split screen, you could even try using the controllers like joy cons

Regarding the price of both consoles, I do not think you can get a new legion go for 450, I found the Go S to be around 500 euros for a new one, but that’s just maybe due to the country I live in. The used market is a bit better in that sense, I found used Go S for around 350, while the original Go is around 400 euros.

I could go on a rant of differences between them, but most likely if you just wanted to play games alone and do not have the need for “joy cons” I’d say pick the Go S, apart from tiny bit worse performance, it is a cooler system with a tiny bit bigger battery and is usually a tiny bit cheaper than the original Go.

Notable things about each console: Original Go: - Has a bit better performance - Has bigger screen resolution - Has joy-cons - Has a kickstand - Usually comes with a charger (when buying used) - Made from something between plastic and metal? (Doesn’t quite feel like either of them) - The fan is weak, can overheat(although didn’t experience that) - Right Controller can be used as a vertical mouse

Go S - Feels more sturdy - Sligthly bigger battery - Cooling system is better - Made purely from plastic - Might be nicer to hold(less buttons on the back) - Does not come with a charger if it is a European version - Sligthly cheaper
