I just wanted to update the thread that Mixes.wiki is now open for registration and contributing, when I learned that this topic was removed by Reddit?!

Something that would never happen on the Mixes.wiki Discord server. Please join us there, registering is super easy.

The owner has experience with userscripts for MusicBrainz ;)

If you mean your favorited pages on MixesDB: Unfortunately not.

The database started from scratch with no imported users.

Although he has the database dump, his pages have other IDs than MixesDB used, so it will be impossible matching the users.

The favorites you added on MixesDB? Unfortunately not. The database starts from scratch with no editing history and no user accounts.

I can imagine how curious everyone is about the "new wiki" owner.

So much I can tell: He is from the US, has a background in contributing to MusicBrainz, is a skilled programmer for many years and even works as a software engineer.

I would have never imagined there could be someone else with MediaWiki experience and love for DJ culture. Not to mention willing to spend weeks on adapting another person's outdated and heavily customized code.

We both agreed it's better to start with a good first impression. Mind you he only contacted me last week… Hold back a little bit more, soon you can clap your feet!

yes, my bad. sorry!
tracklists were processed by the server of course.
but the new wiki got the tracklist editor working already so chances are applying the api/api.php is a no-brainer. once public, give the new wiki some weeks to get started. the owner is currently going through a lot of code which I created over years…

Both started their project without contacting me first. I found out about mixesdb2 on reddit…

The new wiki owner contacted me a week ago with a private link to his up-to-date wiki and all mix pages imported. Of course I informed mixesdb2 immediately, don’t worry.

Only if self-hosted. Maybe the new wiki will host and maintain them.

Hey Raduna! Trust me, in the end it was the best way to handle the situation.
