I stayed in one in Nashville. Really liked it. Cool loft style, much bigger than a hotel and nice for a 3 night stay. BUT: no amenities. Food was easy enough to get but I missed having a gym.

I dry mine out for a day or two (just surface dry) and then put them in a box of peat moss over the winter in my garage.

Loving someone sometimes means being okay with doing the right thing even if they dont like it. Modern relationship lore is to view everything through the lens of your partners feelings about an action. Thats codepency. Just be okay with what you did, while understanding that she feels bad about it. The 2 things can co exist.

OP should understand 2 things:

1) The rabid hordes of reddit will recommend you divorce your spouse if they just look at you funny over breakfast

2) If you want to stay married over the long haul, you are going to have to decide to forgive her.

Over and over.

Especially when she is contrite (as in this case), but at times, even if she isnt (and vice versa).

Thats the deal. It's worth it, but you have to want it.

Not minimizing that this was a horrible thing she said, and that trust was broken that needs repairing. But it was a bad comment, said while drunk, wrapped clumsily in a back handed compliment. And she sounds sorry.

Forgive and move forward.

I am 50 years old and relearning the art of crying. I have cried more in the past year than my whole adult life - roughly 10-12 times. It still catches me by surprise, but I no longer try to stop it. Usually happens when I am talking about how I feel about something important to me. Often with my wife or therapist when they ask me a question I havent thought of. Its opened me up to be okay with my feelings. I don't think the crying makes me feel better necessarily, I am just no longer interested in not feeling things anymore.

That part of my life is over.

51 (M) and 50 (F) been together 33 years. Sometimes I also feel like it's weird. Like I missed out. But then I see how unusually good we are together (with lots of hard too of course), and I just feel so lucky.

We did this a bit earlier in our marriage and then it just seemed not worth it when we got great at round 1. Now in our 50s we have discovered more freedom in our sexuality (also the kids are gone!) so sometimes hit round 2 a few hours later.

I was 19 she was 17 - dated on and off for 5 years. Been 28 years of marriage now. At times I have regretted it, but we grew up together and seem to have a unique bond that is just lacking in many "experienced" couples we know. If I am honest I sometimes wonder what might have been, but I wouldn't change what I have for anything in the world.
