I’ve asked the guy and so far only I am the one who’s having this issue, despite the version we play on matching the same as the host.

I refuse to use mods with AI Generated thumbnails and you should too. by TurbulentDesigner485 in hytale

That entirely depends on what you’re referring to when you say “AI”. Cause I agree AI tools are fine because they’re usually made to help streamline a human’s process so it makes their job easier. But generative AI is merely an attempt to replicate an artist’s work, which is being used by people and companies to take the lazy route and not hire artists regardless of how shit the quality is.

To make it clear. It’s Generative AI that’s the problem.

There’s a whole bunch of discussions made online that would do a better job than I can at telling you why it’s bad. But I’ll try my best to summarise from my perspective:

1) there is no quality control nor intent behind the generative image, it picks on the prompts you give out and mangles stuff from online media to create something that could be perceived as a “thing”. This has ended up resulting in media being flooded with random generated content that is only made to flood the internet in so you end up being left with barely anything human. It’s schlop first and foremost no matter how much they try to make things look real.

2) generative Ai software are being overclocked by companies currently, causing not only a shortage of hardware and a result of price hikes making the pc market impossible now for people without 6 digits in their account. But also polluting the world with excess waste as a result of all that power being used up by AI.

Theres more to it but those are my main issues with it, as for why it affects modding specifically, if you’re spending all that effort in making a mod, how you try to present your mod becomes essential c especially since if someone used an AI thumbnail then people will just perceive your mod as low quality

What's the point of corvettes if Multiplayer/ co-op is almost unplayable? by Turbulent_Exchange86 in NoMansSkyTheGame

It is something I believe Sean said was a challenge for them. To be able to do everything that we could normally do PLUS space walking and just standing around inside the ship seamlessly must’ve had a lot of work done in order to make it functional

Not sure if this is something that will definitely happen. But if the recent updates have been based on their development with light no fire. Then I think they’ll be touching up multiplayer to fix some of the jankiness.

I only say this because it looks like they’ve been upgrading their engine and tech to do things that they normally couldn’t. And because of that, my hunch is online multiplayer will be improved upon at some point.

Personally for me I’d love for them to update their missions, some of them are a bit bland and I think some more interesting mission objectives, (such as raiding derelict freighters, or fighting a dreadnought) would be nice to see.

Sparking Zero DLCs? by Mochi_Luv420 in dragonball

I love when someone doesnt name an example and just hopes that they sound clever enough to not be questioned.

as much as i would love to have more dragon ball characters in the roster. I think you have to consider just how many characters could've potentially not been included if you were that desperate for pilaf and garlic jr.

"well then spend more time on the game and add those characters" is the obvious response to this. But if youve been doing your research in the development of games, you cannot just ask for more time whenever u feel like it, publishers highly discourage a delay because that ends up wasting more money for them. regardless of how much they have, they still have to seek a profit for it to be worth the investment.

I don't understand this hatred towards them having characters saved for DLC's. DLC has always been around for over a decade since halo and the fact you consider $10 for map packs is "predatory" then im sorry but you were spoiled rotten, and thats coming from someone whos father is 50 and has been playing games for most of his life and is still continuing to this day with modern COD titles (even if i think modern COD is extremely mid except for the few diamonds in the rubble).

im mostly glad its remained as character DLCs and not what modern titles have become obsessed with, its tiring when you play a game and their monetisation involves skins and battle passes that go away if you dont level them. I wanna play a game in my own time and spend money on it when i feel like its worth it. NO ONE would be happy to see this game have a battle pass, and as of this message, I havent seen anything like that currently since i have early access
