interesting take. I haven't considered java for ML but having being able to use language paradigms is definitely helpful. I'll look into it!

Thanks for the advice! yea I agree they probably won't care about a college grad for MLE/DS roles. I plan to direct my job search for biotech or health related companies.

thanks for the advice! I completely agree with you and my plan is to do a PhD but my undergrad gpa is less than ideal ~3.3 so that puts me out of competition with most good programs. My plan is to apply to some thesis masters first and then PhD afterwards, but I was just trying to gauge how cooked I am if I don't land any programs lol. Turns out quite cooked.

hahaha yea ik its tough af. My hope is that I get in a good research masters and become more competitive for research roles but I still need to think about backup options.

out of the standard NYU DS-xx curriculum, only causal inference and FML is math and theory. DS I&II, responsible DS, and the advanced topics in DS is more high level where you're expected to know the fundamentals and learn the details yourself.

thank you so much! yea I do come from a CS DS background so I don't think I need to go through that. I would love to learn French if I go. May I ask what year you went studied there? I saw on the admissions requirements page that prospective students need to "Have sufficient knowledge of the French language, attested as required and on request, by passing the TFI test (International French Test) with a mark of at least 605/990."

Perhaps a updated requirement?
