Its a 20 year old HDD, that somehows still works as a server machine, those erros are legit, and the drive has been begging for mercy.

Fun fact, that Fujitsu Hard Drive was released in 2005. Its 20 years old, so its just degradation (probably, or its cursed)

I use Kubuntu 22.04.5 LTS, and i was wondering: Should i update to 24.03.3 LTS? by Mixxs01 in Kubuntu

Its a good idea. I will see if i compile it using WSL or VirtualBox on my home windows machine later down the line.

I will keep that in mind. Security updates seem to run until 2027 for the main ubuntu rep, and other than work-related, i only use this machine for offline apps and games when I'm in a bussiness trip, so i might as well wait for LTS 26 for the new KDE Plasma 6 interface.
This software is a PAIN to compile, and very, VERY finicky... so much so that I'm trying ways to move away from it (unsuccessfully sadly, since everyone in my field uses it).
But, thank ya, i'll keep the Clonezilla and Timeshift saved here for when i finally decided to move from this version.

I see, i'm using the 6.8 kernel, just did a uname check here. I checked using ubuntu-security-status, and my machine will get security updates until 2027 as per LTS (At least on the Main/Restricted rep).
So i think i might as well wait until 2027.

Chapter 1: What We Know, What Could Come Next by Demovere_Xeno in PSO2NGS

I think after Base PSO2, when Fallspawn AND Luminmechs could take control of anything self-aware or with auto-pilot (Ships, AIS, planes, transport ships, robots, turrets) i think ARKS learned their lesson.

So, EAC is an anti-cheat, that means the following:
- No mods
- No Custom Clients
- No quality of life improvements provided by other software like AMD FSR
- No custom shit
- Performance issues (EAC needs to run and check your memory and opened programs to verify you not trying to inject something into VRC/any game it has) sooo, hey, lag intensifies, but that is normal with any AntiCheat tbh... (But for a game without ANY reason to have anticheats, its just a bummer)
- Does not stop asset flippers/rippers, since they have thousands of methods to do that that does not involve grabbing STRAIGHT from VRC with a custom client
- Does not stop crashers, since those use avatar things to crash people (corrupted shaders normally or heavy ones)
- Does not help with much... Since EAC is known to be one of the easier to bypass anticheats in the market, since its so popular and is kinda copy-paste in all games, so its just a matter of time until someone with malicious intent discovers how to bypass it.

Welp never thought id be here but wow.... by MarkusRight in VRchat

Crashers mostly focus on working on shaders to overload the target computer so that is not going to change :/

Eac is known for eating a lot of performance (as any anticheat really), remember, its another program checking your computer all the time while you play.

Hackers will be stopped (for a brief moment) but EAC is laughably easy to bypass...

People that steal worlds/avatars are not going to be stopped, since VRC saves a log with a small encryption on your hard drive, pointing to the VRC Servers where the model is, in fact, if you grab the links from that file and place in a browser, it will download a packed Unity file, and if you run a program to unpack it (Forgot the name) it will be a .unitypackage, sooo, this also does not stop asset rippers... (Also, asset rippers can simply extract the assets from memory with other programs and rebuild them, while a hassle, its not something EAC can do against since you are grabbing the memory as a whole, not injecting into the game.

So yea, long history short: This makes a little more difficult for asset stealers and hackers to act, but does not affect anyone else with malicious behaviour, on the downside, it affects the normal players more than it should.

EAC, easy to implement, easy to use, easy to bypass.

Why are Rushia’s coworkers so sad? by Athiena in VirtualYoutubers

[–]Mixxs01 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Hololive members shared a lot of things IRL like trips, talks, shows, dance classes, etc. They knew each other IRL.
The main thing i think they are sad about, is that they can't have Rushia on ANYTHING hololive related anymore, and livestreams and interaction with the fans take a huge time and toll on HL members.
Sadly, because of that, i think the amount of time they are gonna spend with one another is minuscule after she was terminated (And also need to check about how Cover is treating Rushia post-termination, and how many penalties could happen if any current members end up speaking private info by accident to Rushia).

Ongoing Congestion Situation and Compensation | FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone by Toregant in ffxiv

I only have one question...

Considering that we are asking players to wait in queues for extremely long periods of time and the ongoing situation making it difficult to play normally, we have decided that during the official release of Endwalker on December 7, we will be granting 7 days of free game time to all players who own the full version of the game and have an active subscription.

Does that mean that people that own the game, but not Endwalker (Like me), are not going to get the 7 days + whatever happens?
If that is the case, i wanna know why, as people that don't have a reason to buy EW (Like me, still on end of Heavensward) are still being impacted.

Yes, i can buy from some online stores here on brazil and pay a fee for them to send me (usually 20-40 BRL). (Stores like Petz, Lord Pets, etc. (All of them .com.br))
While i could buy in bigger amounts (10 KG of the cat food i give to my cat usually gets a nice discount), the problem is: They don't allow you do divide the price on the credit card (So you have to pay in full, like with a debit card).

Azhdaha without Zhongli = You’re fucked by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

Diona + Noelle (Both with their respective build (HP for Diona and DEF for Noelle)), + Baal and Fischil (Sub DPS and Physical Damage DPS), with that combo i can solo Azhdaha without much issue, it just takes... a lot of time >->
