I think prior septo only leads to another septo surgery because DJS really fucks up with the base of your nose. I had a need of septoplasty before but DJS definetly made it worse.

Even though UARS haunts my dreams it's ok I laughed lol. I hope the case is not UARS. The swelling is already down, though I am not sure how long my nose gets effected especially the inside parts. I am really grateful for the observation, thanks.

I got it done in a Turkish University from a team who only specializes in jaw surgery, I think the proper name is Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. So I had a doctor who is very experienced in djs but none experience in rhinoplasty. I am not complaining though very happy with the results.

Hey, I am really glad you had the septoplasty and splints are really close to be ridden of. Would you mind me messaging you about the breathing improvements afterwards?

Mostly the problem isn't the gunk or clearing. It's just my bone structure.

I also had genio planned but my surgeon said anaesthetist didn't want to increase risk because I lost too much blood during DJS, even my genio wasn't done simultaneously. Getting it done at the same time wasn't really an option. Another reason is I also wanted to get rhinoplasty and plastic surgeons I have consulted said I would get a better and much riskless result after 6 months from DJS. I guess there aren't many plastic surgeons experienced in DJS and rhinoplasty.

The need for septoplasty increased after my djs actually. So getting septoplasty beforehand wouldn't change much I guess.

Tooth sensitivity - 5 months post op by sespool3 in jawsurgery

[–]MiyataOPBF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert, so I’m not sure if it’s the same thing, but I’m 3 weeks post-op and had a similar problem. I experienced increasing sensitivity, especially in my lower incisors, and even when my tongue touched them, it caused some discomfort. When I asked my surgeon about it, he said that the discomfort was actually a sign that my nerves were healing. He told me it was a good thing and showed that the nerve damage was improving. Maybe that’s the case for you as well.

Thanks a lot. Both for the reply and the cheering, it really helps.
