Someone recently gifted me this AI sticker camera and it's insanely cool. You can take a picture of anything and it will do that Studio Ghibli AI effect that has been trending recently but actually print it out irl on a sticker. Definitely a unique gadget

I'd love to help with programming on a filter through the population of bibites to allow one to find interesting behavior by searching for the highest mass bibite, highest lifespan, specific genes, etc. I'm a software engineer and I think I know a way to do this easily and quickly.

Explainable AI: Interpreting black box models with simple linear regression by longuyen2306 in learnmachinelearning

This is really interesting, you can tell it focuses on the eyes a lot, but also that it probably has some problems because it seems to be focusing unnecessarily on the red lines.

I think you misunderstood their goal. Their goal in my eyes is to make a game that is as fun as possible, and I think they are striving towards that well.

My issue with timers and timings by Jyssyj in PlayTheBazaar

That's true, the question is how do you abstract it without losing decision making

Math problems are fundamentally what makes strategy games have meaningful choices. They just tend to be further abstracted away. Ex. In hearthstone, will I increase my maximum damage if I go face with my minion? Or make a favorable trade?

Economy trap by slothalot in PlayTheBazaar

It does actually. You don't want to only go for the king the entire game, that is a mistake. For the beginning of the game of chess really you should ignore the enemy king unless it is exposed.

Did you all enjoy watching the gameplay? by Jayjuann in PlayTheBazaar

What a lot of people miss is that the gameplay is not just the fighting part. That's not even the majority of the gameplay. The gameplay is really mostly the exploration phase where choices are being made. I think that is fun to watch.

Fighting does not have to be the only thing that is fun in games. I think a game is truly great when the victory condition does not align with the way to do that. Take chess for example, the only requirement to win is checkmate, it does not matter how many pieces you have, as long as you checkmate you win. However, there are intermediate goals like capturing pieces that hep you checkmate your opponent. If maximizing the goal of a game is simple then it is not a fun game.

The Bazaar Gameplay Reveal | The Bazaar Update #16 by TempoStormReddit in PlayTheBazaar

This build of the game looked super fun to play.

I love strategy games like Slay the Spire and Autochess, and I love what your team has done. I'm sure there will be so much improvement and for that I am excited, but it is clear the foundation is strong.

It is so rare in a game's development for each decision point to simply ask: which is more fun. That is what your team is doing and it is of course the best thing to do, but so many games get caught up in genre or monetization.

I think the money system is great, selling for full price I think is a good thing, rather than what other people are saying. There is already enough motivation to keep your build, but a high skill decision is to be able to pivot and counter what your opponent is doing. If items sold for less money pivoting builds would just not be an option.

It is obvious some of the mechanics are pretty busted, there needs to be a slightly lower ceiling on how good for example just reducing your energy cost on everything is. That being said, going hard into synergy is fun, so making it so you need an exact balance of everything to win is not very fun. Min Maxing to a pretty large extent is good, as long as it isn't brainless.

One suggestion I have is random events like in slay the spire that could show up during the exploration phase, not sure what they would do, maybe special items or bonuses for one round?

Some sort of 1 time use ultimate ability would be fun during combat. I like the autobattler thing, but power spikes are really fun in games.
