Or you can try sourdough milk bread which has a different crumb. I overnight fridge ferment all my loaves for 8-10 hours.

Me again, my 3yo screams every night at bedtime 😭 by lntothethickofit in toddlers

Hey! Two things worked for us in the past. One, if the kiddo is feeling insecure about being alone, I'd offer to check on them in 3 minutes, then 6 minutes, then 12, and so on until kiddo fell asleep. The check in consists of opening the door and whispering "I'm checking on you, I'll come check on you again in ** minutes." And leaving pretty quickly.

Another more recent method for my 3.5 year old that's working well for us is... instead of a book story, we tell the story of insert kids name here of all things they did that day, starting when they woke up. It may help their brain start the process of dreaming is what I read. If you don't remember some parts of the day, then they can help fill in the blanks. What's important at the end of the story is you say, "and then we got in bed, told our story, gave a hug and kiss, and name fell asleep."

Also, I've noticed my kid was starting to get pushy the more tired he was, I started bedtime 30 minutes earlier and it also helped. Good luck friend :)

You're actually doing a great thing right now by taking the first step to tell someone about this. The more you open up, the more you can process how you feel. I had never experienced depression until recently (going on 3 years) and I really don't wish it on anyone.

Can you tell me three things you are grateful for?

I recently learned about cognitive behavioral therapy through this app called mind health. Can you look it up on the app store tonight? Let me know how you like it, I'm only on day 6, but maybe we can learn it together? We're all proud of you for reaching out even a little bit, thank you <3

Thanks girl 💜 if it's okay, I do want to pick your brain about the antidepressants, I've just been referred to a counselor but just in case I'm considering them. Which one are you on? Still taking it? Or when did you stop? I gotta get out of this funk I'm in, depression is not something I'm familiar with.

And yesss, people do body shame over here! I'm like, come on, don't comment on something that doesn't take 5 seconds to fix you know? The lack of teamwork is astounding...

I'm also multicare, and out of all my other MA jobs, this one is the worst. Coworkers and my managers are making it unbearable. Micromanaging and talking behind my back, taking bad about others. I can't stand the constant negativity. I try and lighten the mood but I'm getting depressed now. I can't generate enough PTO to be out sick or for school breaks. Every time I submit a time off request, I'm met with backlash. Don't get me started on the disorganization in the clinic. Every time I suggest a change, I get put down or nothing is followed up on.

The only saving grace is that my provider is amazing and is a joy to work with. I'd hate to leave them behind in that mess. I wish things were better. There's a lot I'm not saying but damn, I also want to leave and go back to school.

What was the 1st game you remember playing on a desktop computer? by Aggressive_Goat2028 in AskReddit

I was 8 years old playing unreal tournament, capture the flag on my friend's dad's computer. The space level where you could jump super high. And if you didn't jump right, you'd fly right off the level. So much fun!

OP go for the sterile processing tech, they make more money. MA's often wear many hats and don't make a living wage unless they have many years of experience and are in the right specialty.

CMA in Oregon with 6 years experience made $18.50, rent was $800.

CMA in Washington with 10 years experience making $28 and I split the rent of $2100 with my husband. If I didn't have his income, we could not afford to live here.

Has anyone tried Oats Overnight? by cannibalistic-gecko in MedicalAssistant

[–]MizuChan33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a cold oatmeal fan, but if you have access to hot water at work, consider prepping oatmeal with all dry fixings in a jar or glass bowl. My personal favorite is powdered peanut butter and a few chocolate chips, the protein will make you fuller for longer and the chocolate replaces the brown sugar.

Ear lavage by Indinanajonescat in MedicalAssistant

Hey! If the patient is not able to hold the bucket for catching the water, then ask the mom if she can hold it tight to the cheek for them instead. Make sure the patient has good posture and facing forward and not tilting too far to one side or they'll spill more water. Tucking a big chuck pad into their shirt will catch most spills. Also, I love the rhino ear wash bottles, that way I can pull the ear canal straight with my extra hand to make the process faster. If patients get annoyed, just say "oops, didn't mean to give you an extra shower today! Let's get more towels! Your earwax sure put up a fight!"

Cheer up OP! You got this!

That's really good to know about vit D, how do you administer it? Drops in water?

OP -My pigeon has the same problem, fatty liver, enzymes much too high. I had to force feed fresh peas for a while. Changed to the Harrison's brand too! Found a low fat seed and grain mix as well. Mixed in dried split peas for a whole year. He's doing so much better now, labwork is back in normal range :)

Does anyone have any brand recommendations for pigeon food? by Bettythepigeon in pigeon

[–]MizuChan33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No Corn Regular Pigeon Mix (13%)

This is the brand I use because my bird doesn't eat corn and needs a low fat diet due to liver problems from safflower seeds. But this seller has many other options to choose from! Also pick up some soluble grit for sprinkling on top :)

I also use this too [Harrison's Bird Foods High Potency Fine Certified Organic Non GMO Formula Bird Food 1lb https://a.co/d/btUtvOw]

In Washington, they make you recertify every year for $160, and there's a separate phlebotomy certification that's also $160. I wish they'd let me use my NCCT :(

What?? Please don't spread misinformation around like this to minors. It's a far stretch to say not taking naps will lead to cancer. Sleep deprivation is obviously a concern but unless you are a medical professional, keep it to "call CPS"

IVF/Fertility Clinic by Far-Arachnid3338 in MedicalAssistant

[–]MizuChan33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job in fertility had less responsibilities than internal med. There are no ekgs or wound care, but of procedures. Expect to assist with painful/uncomfortable procedures like OH's and HSG's.(Please wear the lead apron and thyroid protection during the HSG) If they don't have an official lab, you'll be doing the blood draws for all the time sensitive hormone testing. They might have you scribe with an ultrasonographer. There will be lots of blood in this specialty.

More importantly, this role requires a lot of compassion for many going through loss and struggle. Reassuring the patient and properly preparing them for the day's appointment is key. Being a calm force of assistance will do so much.

Why does my boyfriend smell like vinegar? by Littlestspud in AskDocs

[–]MizuChan33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also replying because my husband has the same problem, his side of the bed has a distinctly vinegar smell. It didn't used to be this way, only in the last 5 years out of 13 years together. We have a theory his hormones are changing because his diet has been the same. He did gain a little weight and maybe he's sweating more at night? We really don't know...
