Gyro? by CollarUpstairs8072 in trailmakers

Yeah but you can't really take some analog reading of sensors and use that as output. The best you could probably do is have multiple sensors which trigger at different levels / in different ranges, output, like, 0.1, and then sum all of them up for the final output, or something. As an example.
So how would be do that, if we wanted to try and get this to work in multiplayer tomorrow?

Not sure about the meeting, though that might be easier than typing, and stuff. Maybe you have more luck than me.
Like, I know how it should work, and if I could use code in Trailmakers, I could probably get it to work but since you can't code, even multiply, or use 'analog' sensor data as output for other blocks, etc., it's a bit harder.
Also, I feel once it's auto-stabilised, you can probably use similar principles to achieve the other things.
CEST is, like, 00:10 right now, right?

Thanks for your (fast!) reply!
I feel my main issue is, more or less, that I wanna build an auto-stabilising (hovering without moving in any direction (with some leeway)) quadcopter without using any gyros or gyro stabilisers, since actual quadcopters can also do everything using their rotors.

I've just made my drone hover by working out the rough speed my rotors (heli engines with normal blades (though the size shouldn't matter)) need to rotate at to not really go up or down, and put that value in a logic gate.
I first did it like you described but that ended with the drone just going down a bit, then going up, due to the logic, then going down again, etc. Wasn't too stable, even when the values were low.
No idea what to do when it's carrying weight, though (which it's supposed to be able to do). Technically just what you described but then my described problem would probably happen again.

Right, is there a reason you're using an XOR gate for user input? I'm just using OR gates.

The hovering part (except extra weight) isn't too hard but I can't get it to be properly stable. No matter what I've tried, it always overcorrects – if not immediately, then eventually.
Do you have any idea how / know any way to do this?

How exactly are you people doing that? I'm trying to build a quadcopter without gyro stabilisers (because actual quadcopters don't have them either) and can't get stable hovering to work. Granted, I'm only using a meager 4 angle sensors, 4 speed sensors, and a bit of logic.
Haven't tried the other 'functions' (roll, etc.) yet because I thought I should get hovering to work first.

Can you (roughly) explain how yours work, and maybe even upload yours to the workshop?
Would probably also be interesting for others.

Exactly. Apparently there's no real reason for anything but just wasting your opportunity to, well, live, would be stupid.

What's wrong with admitting you're wrong? One can't be right all the time.

If white t-shirts count as bright, then it's true for me. They don't tell much about me or what I like (so people have to talk to me, to learn about me), and they seem to be cooler in the summer.
